Wowwww! City win it in injury-time.

Plenty of fans missed that winner, they'd already left to beat the traffic.

Fuck off you rag loving ****.
they did miss it, the place looked half empty when the ball hit the back of the net?

When I lived in Manchester and had the opportunity to go to most home games, I always wanted to stay right to the end, but I can't understand the constant criticism of people who leave a little early. The fact that they've paid a shit-load of money and gone to the trouble of going to the game tells you all you need to know. If they leave early to avoid getting stuck in the car-park or in a massive queue for public transport, that's their decision. If the team needs every last fan to stay there for the whole match, cheering them on, then they should work on ways to get people out of the area more efficiently after the game. And so what it those fans missed the winning goal - I bet all the true City fans amongst them care far more that we won the game than that they actually saw the goal in person, wonderful though that would have been.
Fair enough, that's your view and I don't have a problem with it.

I just can't understand from my perspective why anyone would leave a game early when it's not over until it's over.

We've had some tremendous moments over the last few years, the Ageuro goal being just one example, and tonight being another.

It's their chioce to leave the ground, but for the life of me I can't understand why, given our history of last minute goals over the years, including the game against Gillingham, anyone would want to miss those moments for the sake of 'getting away early', especially these days when it costs an arm and a leg to buy a ticket.

It says more about our shit transport system than anything else, but there can be countless personal reasons why someone leaves early and out of 50 odd thousand people those reasons can be numerous.

I just try not to be a busy **** and not overthink what other peoples lives are like and concentrate on my own :)

I don’t think it was a foul I think it was just slight contact and coming together after he played the ball.
We see it constantly where a player makes a tackle and momentum takes a player into another player and it’s not a foul.
It wasn't a slight contact. It was a dumbass foul, a stupid mistake by a player that won us the league in his first season with us but is now turning into a liability

Some good performances last night against a very good villa side with a very forward thinking line up.

Controlled large parts of the game and didn’t give too much away to villa.

Bernardo was very good. Kovacic went about his business nicely and nico is a fantastic prospect and for him to not look out of place not playing in his natural position bodes very well for the lad.

Doku and nunes I couldn’t be happier for. They seem to come in for a lot of criticism but I like the pair of them.

gundogan doesn’t bring much to the party anymore and is a bystander for lots of transitional play and I’m not sure why gonzalez isn’t being bedded in at this point.

Mcatee isn’t good enough in my view and should have scored twice last night. Yes it was a decent touch but he has to score that with just the keeper to beat.

Dias needs to get back to where he was. Had his veins turned inside out by rashford early doors and gives away the penalty which was a clear foul and needless at that point.

However a great win and hopefully confidence restored by the run in.

I've had time to see the highlights on video now.

I think our first goal was well made by Marmoush. Arguably that could be given as an o.g. It's a goalkeeping error. but it was a well-worked move.

In respect to the pen. I think it was the correct call. Dias does get a minor touch on the ball but his knee takes Ramsey out.

The winner was as we all saw at the time a great piece of skill and a fantastic cross by Doku that was begging to be finished. It was the moment of the match.

Overall, I think Emery got his tactics wrong. They needed to win that game but played a low block. Villa have some fantastic attacking players, for example Assensio, McGinn and Watkins. They came on at the end, and I did think in that final 15 mins they improved but it was too late.

It seems certain now that City are going to stick to that starting line-up. We can add risk to it by replacing one of the midfielders with a winger. Doku is a bit of a maverick. He is capable of great moments. Pep in his past-match comments said he is the best player in the world over 5 metres and this is something we likely all agree on. His take-on stats are the best in the Premier League but the end product needs to improve. His introduction in the last 2 games has been vital.

There were a lot of empty seats last night. The atmosphere at the beginning of the game was awful. There was more noise coming from my own stand than the South stand but by the end of the game it was good. The team got the crow going in the 2nd half. City need to sit down with the fans and sort out some problems. Pep said exactly the same at the end of his press conference.

I thought the result was magnificent but the performance still way below our standards. Was a frustrating watch and for large parts O'Reilly was the only threat going forward. Marmoush the only other player that dares to look forward.

KDB thinks he still has it.. he clearly doesn't. Bernardo.. can't ever question the effort but he's never going to provide chances.
Kovacic - tries but he's too slow and on a few occasions lost the ball in stupid places setting off counters.
Gundogan..other than clocking Martinez which I'm grateful for hardly noticed he was playing.
Mcatee. Nice touch and composure and a good free kick. He might be a player long term IF he's got runners around him.
And the match winner.. Great run for the goal but the rest of the match was his usual..

I genuinely think Villa picked the wrong starting line up..Ascension/Watkins starting might have been more effective in holding onto the ball more. Impressed by that Kamara player though..works well in right space.

Martinez glum chops at the end was a sight to behold.

Actually thought we were really good for most of the game. Didn’t quite have that killer touch in front of goal but the press coupled with the build up and possession really kept Villa quiet.

I was wrong in the pre match thread on the team selection, sorry Pep.

Aston Villa have the look of a team that are too small time to ever make the real step up. Similar to arsenal.
Shit house snide tactics, wasting time all through the game.
From players waiting for ballboys to get them the ball when they know they cant, rashford kicking a ball back onto the pitch to stop a quick re-start, martinez taking an age over everything.
Arsenal did the same.

We used to just go and blow teams away to show our intention. Dippers do to in fairness. But villa, in a massive game, where we are currently pretty much equals, didnt have the bollocks

Likes of villa and arsenal have leaders who deep down dont believe they are quite good enough

I noticed for the first time that there are yellow for hire bikes under the Nexen Bridge and 2 young people in front of me hired them. Once you get the bike to the main road, I imagine that it works well but for me I enjoy the walk.

On the way back to town I could hear Villa fans complaining about their performance. I expected so much more from Villa. It was like the Newcastle game where a visiting club has been on great form, and then failed to show up against us.

Some saying the performance wasn't that good!? Sorry it's what pep wants total control 60+ possession stats never over commit no risky passes it's his base that won us the treble! I was saying a lot of fans were saying Newcastle were going rip us apart Villa was going to rip us apart essentially when you watched there last game against Newcastle how good they've been with on of the best midfield in the league!

I'll keep saying his Pep's philosophy of control possession is the best way to defend and win games win trophies , it's why we been the best team in the premier league for the last 8/10 years!

Personally hope Pep stays for another 10 years because when we get a new manager it might be more end to end but we will not win as many titles trophies as under pep..

Really? From Villa's constant shithousing.

2 minutes for substitutions and the rest for them refusing to start play in decent time.
