Reform 2025 Limited new name same business

I suggest you contact Ric as it's been done many a time by many a poster, I suppose sooner or later a drama queen would see their arse.

Your faux outrage has been noted and after a long period of reflection I'm struggling to care tbh, sorry old bean.

You have every right to be offended by such a nothing event but I'm under no obligation to placate you. Have a great weekend now.
I'm disappointed that you think it acceptable to do this even, apparently if others have. I'm not too sure many of us here bother to look at original posts that are subsequently quoted to see if the original and the "quoted" version match.I only did so because your version didn't actually make much sense despite your attempts to justify it. Maybe it's right wing thing.

I will have a good weekend, being able to look myself in the mirror knowing I go through life not mis-respresenting others. Maybe it's a lefty woke trait.

just to educate the people whining about prescriptions.
total spend on pharmaceuticals by the nhs is 20 billion a year
even if 1% are fraudulent or whatever (it seems unlikely to be that high) thats 200 million
starbucks alone cheats on paying 50 million corporation tax per year by claiming it has to pay 100 million in royalty payments to its swiss holding company.
now think of all the multinationals who do similar.
any fraud in the nhs is insignificant compared to the loss of funding from these greedy companies
the focus should be on closing tax loopholes not turning regular people against each other.

its just the same tactics they use against imigrants and the welfare state.

the welfare state isnt shit because of immigrants and the nhs isnt shit because a very small number of people claim free prescriptions when they shouldnt

both are shit because the greedy rich corporations and individuals refuse to pay their fair share so the government doesnt have the money to fund them properly.

Pales into insignificance compared to ADIDAS .

I agree in general. But the point about free prescriptions was that it can generate an entitlement mindset. £200,000,000 is not to be sniffed at and if even half of that is recouped then that's a good thing. It may also change the mindset of future generations. It may be small fry but worth doing.

As for the major conglomerates, you're spot on but trying to close loopholes is very difficult. I seem to remember that the G20 summit they had in Cornwall a few years ago apparently had some agreement this would be addressed. Nothing has changed as far I know.

Nothing clever about it. You're effectively changing someone elses view and post without their permission. If you can't be arsed re-typing to get YOUR view over, then don't bother. It's only fair to the original poster's view.

I find using the highlight function as above makes it pretty clear as to what is being referred to when replying to a long post.
I totally accept your argument & apologise sincerely.

It’s happened countless times as you rightly say but it’s only ok when it suits and you find it funny eh?

The staggering hypocrisy displayed on this forum is something else at times.

To be clear-it's not OK. I was merely making a point. It has been done openly and not surrepticiously, hence my comment that it's a one off!!

And we wonder why the country and wider world is in the shit if you can't see what you did is at least debatable. Even the OP expressed some dismay and all you did was ridicule him. Anyway time to move on as you clearly can't differentiate between common decency and "tough talking guy".

at what cost?
the way all parties seem to be doing it is tarring all that are getting free prescriptions as scroungers. making the vulnerable targets. making a large part of their lives having to justify their rightful benefits, not just once but over and over again.
it is a large part because its not just prescriptions its all benefits they are being asked to justify.

for an example my father had early onset parkinsons
this is a degenerative disease, it only gets worse.
still had yearly assesments regarding 6 different benefits from the age of 55 to 65. the pressure he felt every couple of months was difficult to watch.
each assessment was carried out as if he was falsley claiming, that he was already guilty of fraud and each time he had to prove his innocence . it was absolutely disgusting.

it is small fry and is absolutely not worth doing

So you’re blaming a single issue (tax take) for all the country’s woes? Not much different really to those blaming it all on immigration.

Both are very very wrong.

Just to be clear, the issue of free prescriptions in Wales was used by a future Reform voter as an example of the only good thing Labour have done there in 25 years. I pointed out, using evidence, that it can also drive an entitlement culture because it is free. It can also drive behaviours when a benefit is claimed based on what medication is taken. In the case of my MiL neighbour, it was the prescribing of a heavy duty painkiller for a "back issue" that no longer required anything more than an occasional paracetamol-his words, that was a requirement to claim at least one of the benefits he was claiming.

I'm sorry about your father and the way he was treated by the system.

If the argument ref free prescriptions driving an entitlement culture should extend to free education as a comparison. I Scotland Uni is free for Scottish people in England we pay fees yet there is double %age take up of a Uni education in fee paying England than there is in free Scotland. If the case held water surely near 100% Scottish people would be at University because they are entitled to because its free?
