Seat Counters - 2024/25

And that is why it was 90 % forest on Wembley way ? Not just because they had a third more in attendance, the fact that we have been there so many times, why would any blue ,unless they was taking maybe a youngster for the first time ?want to be strolling down Wembley way 2-3, hours before kick off?
That coupled with the fact that we had the west end and all our allocated pubs are over that side and not at Wembley Park plus people just know what they are doing as we been so many times !

It why we are not in the fountains in Trafalgar square the night before like the Geordies ?

And is the exact same situation that happened. At the league cup final when Wembley way was wall to wall black and white stripes but inside Wembley 40000 rats seem to appeared like magic !
Like us they been that often b4 they just get on with it

I’ll say it again

I think it was a great turnout
Nailed it

Our vist for the Semi v the Rags was exactly the same.

The roundabout area rammed with Blues

We did the Green Man, the roundabout, Wembley Way, Bobby Moore statue, watched the pre match "Boxing" and still got in for a pint before ko.

Now I get to the ground as late as possible and go straight in, usually after spending time in London.

Forest's big day out was completely different to ours, it is what it is.

You can be quite articulate when you are not under the influence of drink or with your normal reprobates.
Keep it up.

The club need to find a way of getting the semi final fans to wembley, so it needs to be part of the criteria at some point. I would allow cup scheme members an extra ticket as well reward the loyalty and effort, obviously going to be a harder sell than the semi as it is more expensive

I agree. Charlie the 17 year old mad city fan got a ticket with his Mum & Nan for the semi. They had a brill experience. Loved every minute. As many say this young lad is the future.
How can we get this lad & Mum to the final?

The empty seats are nothing to do with a fan base and how many we have. Even the tourists only want to go to Wembley to see a trophy lifted you only have to look at the charity shield sales compared to Sunday!! The pull of going to Wembley for anything other than a final has long gone for blues even the tourist fans that have jumped on.

Do you think he cares? I'm not saying he doesn't, and I hope he does; I have no idea.
The only way to fix this is to re-establish some form of fan engagement, which contradicts everything they have done in recent years. As others have said, I think they anticipated the community shield crowd to pick up the slack, which they plainly got horribly wrong.
Yes, I do think he cares - he wants us to be seen as a superclub across the world and Sunday didn't portray that image. Interesting what you say about fan engagement - I personally think the club are pretty good on fan engagement. I don't know what the answer is, but the club are trying to grow the fan base and like you say, they probably anticipated the Community Shield crowd to pick up the slack.

I said to my mate after the game could you imagine how many we would have taken v Dortmund if we had got to the CL Final last season? We have the support.

Its fatigue as the main reason, Wembley not the draw it was after 25 or so visits in the last 14 years.
This season, with us not going far in the other cups, I expected a better turnout.

The coach and quality of football is completely and utterly irrelevant. Us being the best in the world or absolute shit doesn't impact on my bank balance. Us being so good has battered many a bank balance to be fair and when we have been as much as we have over the years, a semi final not selling out, but still nearly selling 30k for a fixture in London on a Sunday afternoon isn't too shabby. If it was our first trip there in 30 odd years like Forest we would sell it ten times over. It was posted yesterday that in 15 years we have sold just under a million tickets for wembly. Not bad in that context
Imagine you're Khaldoon 'We've been so successful that our fans are getting bored and fatigued with it all.....' Hmmmm........

Spot-on. Very few fans using the West Stand approach on Wembley Way, Anyone who has been to Wembley would realise that, Virtually all our fans were on the other side, rammed in the pubs.

A lot is down to cost, the time it takes and the fact it's not a novelty as it was for the Forest fans. Look at the cup final, train for two is currently £151 and that's with a rail card, two cheap seats is another £90 based on last year so for a dad / mum to take their son / daughter who is over 21 is a minimum £241 and you haven't had any food or drink. You could be looking at £150 per head for a game of football!
I totally agree with you on cost. So if the worst nightmare happens and Liverpool dominate for ten years, would they eventually have huge blocks of Wembley empty seats? LIVERPOOL A BAD COMPARATIVE EXAMPLE THOUGH. I'm setting aside Chelsea - they often have vast swathes of empty Wembley seats even though it's a bus ride away for them. Would Villa and Everton have the same result after dominating the Prem for years? We'll never know......

People would just buy a 30 quid ticket and not bother going

Liverpool and United aren’t like any other clubs. Liverpool would probably fill Wembley three times a season, even if everyone with a Liverpool postcode was banned from going.

Another poster using selective examples to justify their position.

The pull should be City

Fair enough. Everton and Villa would be better comparative examples.

The obsession some fans with tourists is a symptom of the shift in City support from a seasoncard base to match day fans. You call them tourists as if you know their affinity towards City. All you see is a foreigner. At least they went to the game and this was the best atmosphere at Wembley since Yaya Toure and the Man Utd semi-final.

City's problem is that we still lag behind Man Utd and Liverpool in having large numbers of London based blues because it is impossible to travel en masse from Manchester to London. There are a handful of trains, and coaches mean you get back to Manchester at 01:30 hours (without extra time).

What's the problem?
Using Liverpool to justify your point.
There are 2 clubs in this country with a large enough fan basis to fill Wembley after 30 visits and you picked 1 of them.
I notice you already have agreed that Chelsea wouldn't do and I can name you another 90 that wouldn't aswell.
