When people are dissatisfied they sometimes go for the looney fringe. The BNP won a lot of council seats in Burnley a few years ago, but dwindled away over the next cycle. Here’s hoping.

Mention WFA, PIP, Immigration, cost of living, high utility bills, inflation, taxation etc and you’re just dismissed as a right wing loon.

The problems are the same whoever is in power and at each general election the electorate take their frustrations out on the incumbent party. An added issue is the failure by both the Tories and Labour to stop illegal immigration.

On a more local issue sticking a £45 charge on green bin collection is just a stealth tax, how much will they charge next year?

The two main parties have sold their souls and eaten themselves over the last couple of decades. I suspect it is to do with the media ground shifting so quickly beneath their feet due to the growth of the internet and social media.
The Tories have turned into a weird combination of a seemingly diverse cabinet with high bame representation delivering policy that would please Enoch Powell and norman tebbit. Labour have indulged a slightly peculiar witch hunt against the left and socialism in their efforts to be all things to all men and hoodwink the public.
Lib dems deserve a century in the wilderness after their stint in coalition with the Tories, And the greens will be a fringe protest vote until they admit nuclear has to be at the core of a green energy solution.
Hopefully this will be the kick up the arse they all need, but maybe their heads are too far up their arses for the kick to register :-(

I was told I was going mad well over a year ago when I said they’ll win next election. I’m not arsed - people will realise once again they’ve been conned by the renound con artist and it will be worse than they think, just like Brexit and Trump. Right wing never learn.
 
Do we have any figures on voter turnout? Can't see them where I have looked.

Edit my bad. Just seen 30% drop in turnout compared to the GE for Runcorn. A huge 46% turnout. So the seat was won with just over 18.5% of the total potential vote.

Or the right wing use the views already held by some of the public and campaign with promises of a better country on that basis. So just like any other political party really, basically they all bullshit you. Nice to see lessons have been learnt on how the clever ones deal with this.

No fair, why won't people accept that I'm right sniff. That's what is always comes down to, getting your own way :-)

I mean some on here have spent an inordinate amount of time telling one poster who not to vote for, vote for shit rather than worse shit seemed to be the best they could come up with.

It's hardly a positive message of change is it?
