Reform 2025 Limited new name same business

Some serious power wanking in the RW media today. They'll be demanding ConForm as Nigel as leader/future PM next.
I doubt reform will have a majority at the next general election but if they do and he's still leading them then it's very likely he will be Prime Minister. Stranger things have happened (Donald J and George Dubya as a couple of examples)

Harris has been excellent with these vlogs he's been making for years, very often very depressing but with appearance of some great "small" people. And here [13:47] is a nutshell what Reform is all about, but nobody wants to accept it.

Canada and Carney has just announced a cap on immigration from 7.3% to 5% to ease the strain on services and housing.

Sensible policy that looks after the interests of his own country, citizens and finances or is he a racist right wing loon?

Isn't that the cap on temporary visas that was announced last year?

I can't find the comparable stats for temporary visas, but given that the % of people born outside Canada, is already significantly higher than the comparable for the UK, those targets are quite possibly higher than we have already.

Old fucker moaning about foreigners. Colour me shocked and surprised.

It is indeed a cap on foreign student and temporary workers visas.

Details here.

Tbf our immigration problems are way different, I doubt many cross from usa to Canada illegally or many come in on boats across the Atlantic or pacific.

I'm hoping that Starmer/Labour will interpret the results to mean that the general population wants things done now.
Promises made, feels like nothing of note being delivered.

Consultations, enquiries, trying to get a big consensus, etc. takes forever and just goes down to the "don't upset anybody".
Balls on the block.
Get a move on.

Agree but the strains on services and housing that effects generations of disadvantaged and discontent citizens and electorates are seemingly mutual and answers have to be found by the so called serious politicians.

Well actually it says more about the British people and their desire to inflict self harm on themselves a second time. I can't imagine there is anyone of any political persuasion that is happy with the state of the country right now. However, 14 years of Tory rule, austerity, Brexit, Truss amongst other things are not going to easily be recovered from, and that is proving to be the case.

Are Labour getting everything right-no of course not. Small boats are a good example. We all know the crossings are weather dependent. The weather has been good and so crossings are high. But the key thing is that the boats are being launched with more people in them. The figures are up 28% on the same period, but this is by no means a record.

It is key to remember however that it is not illegal to cross the channel:

"As FactCheck has previously reported, it’s illegal to enter the country without a visa or special permission – but people who arrive by small boat are protected by international law if they claim asylum once they arrive."

Until the issue is addressed at source or en-route breaking up the gang networks the issue will continue

But considering we are supposed to have a relatively well educated population, the thought that many are actively emboldoning the likes of Farage, Tice, Anderson as some sort of bloody nose to the other parties proves those people have learnt nothing from the 2016 debacle.

I have to say I was always giving you the benefit of the doubt that you were "lending" your vote to Reform. Reading your posts today suggests otherwise.
Interesting on the international law but when was it written? I don’t think anyone foresaw the problems many European or Western countries are experiencing with basically a constant migration from other poorer countries. The gangs are profiteering from all this but they’ll never shut them down the same as they can’t stop the drug coming in. I don’t know what the answer is but you can see it boiling up more and more, I’ve always said we 20 years behind the usa in things, from crime to drugs etc, look what they are going through and we can expect the same here, seems we are catching up quicker now, Farage = Trump.

She looked completely bereft of anything to actually say and was awkward as it sank in, they now have to actually deliver which they will most likely fail to do!
She is overrated in my opinion. The job will probably be to big for her.
