Reform 2025 Limited new name same business

Interesting on the international law but when was it written? I don’t think anyone foresaw the problems many European or Western countries are experiencing with basically a constant migration from other poorer countries. The gangs are profiteering from all this but they’ll never shut them down the same as they can’t stop the drug coming in. I don’t know what the answer is but you can see it boiling up more and more, I’ve always said we 20 years behind the usa in things, from crime to drugs etc, look what they are going through and we can expect the same here, seems we are catching up quicker now, Farage = Trump.
I agree with you. I don't know when it was written but is still in place. It was actually the UK that changed its' laws in 2023 but we are outwith international law. Interestingly Farage ahs just said any councils that Reform are in charge of, will no longer take asylum seekers-look out South Wales!!!! Fortunately sense has prevailed where I live and a very good councillor, whose party I don't normally support, will continue to do good work locally.

Badenoch, Truss, Johnson and Corbyn - take a bow....Farage and his racist mob are your creatures.
You forgot Blair, Brown, Cameron, May, Sunak and Starmer.
We have been poorly served by our politicians for 30 years. The chickens are coming home to roost.
As for " Farage and his racist mob" Aren't you just using the language that those politicians want you to use ? Do you really believe what is looking like around 30% of the vote are racist? Can you find no empathy for their justifiable disaffection ?
That said I agree with your sentiment, the likes of Trump and Farage can only flourish when the normal political discourse fails. Dismissing legitimate concerns as racist has been part of that failure for almost 30 years. It needs to stop.

100% agree with the above but I think it's longer than 30 years.

I'm hoping that Starmer/Labour will interpret the results to mean that the general population wants things done now.
Promises made, feels like nothing of note being delivered.

Consultations, enquiries, trying to get a big consensus, etc. takes forever and just goes down to the "don't upset anybody".
Balls on the block.
Get a move on.
They wont, woefully out of touch

The wealthiest are fleeing the country over fear of any slight more tax which is already costing us billions.
I've been trying to find the article but can't at present. It was back in January and it was all about the number of wealthy Americans that are moving here to get away from Trump.

Well actually it says more about the British people and their desire to inflict self harm on themselves a second time. I can't imagine there is anyone of any political persuasion that is happy with the state of the country right now. However, 14 years of Tory rule, austerity, Brexit, Truss amongst other things are not going to easily be recovered from, and that is proving to be the case.

Are Labour getting everything right-no of course not. Small boats are a good example. We all know the crossings are weather dependent. The weather has been good and so crossings are high. But the key thing is that the boats are being launched with more people in them. The figures are up 28% on the same period, but this is by no means a record.

It is key to remember however that it is not illegal to cross the channel:

"As FactCheck has previously reported, it’s illegal to enter the country without a visa or special permission – but people who arrive by small boat are protected by international law if they claim asylum once they arrive."

Until the issue is addressed at source or en-route breaking up the gang networks the issue will continue

But considering we are supposed to have a relatively well educated population, the thought that many are actively emboldoning the likes of Farage, Tice, Anderson as some sort of bloody nose to the other parties proves those people have learnt nothing from the 2016 debacle.

I have to say I was always giving you the benefit of the doubt that you were "lending" your vote to Reform. Reading your posts today suggests otherwise.
Not at all.... My vote will always be an anti-Labour vote if you like and today that sits very much with Reform.

However the moronic defences that the Labour and Tory lot on here are putting up are pathetic to be quite honest with you. It is their actions and their policies and their behaviours that are forcing people to find alternatives and sadly, today that is Reform.

To me the people who are moaning about reform are the kind of people who go on holiday and leave all their downstairs windows open and then return and are surprised they've been burgled. - just a crap analogy.

It will be interesting to see the demographics of these by-elections. During the GE it was mainly those over 50 who stayed with the Tories or voted Reform. Is this still the case or are any of them gaining interest from the younger voter?

For instance, is there anybody on here who voted for Reform, under 50 years old?

I suppose by the foreigners of darker complexion?

You're absolutely right of course, they have all played their part in disconnecting politics from the real problems the country faces as they become increasingly intractable. I would argue that group rather less so than the ones I named but deep cultural changes have contributed too. A key factor for me is the fragmentation of the family group, the older members increasingly living separately without influence on the next generations.

I read earlier that it was areas with less graduates, higher proportion of 65 plus and with a more traditional manufacturing or an agricultural base that swung more to Reform.

Basically, Lincolnshire :)

The state of this thread.
People are labelled morons, thick, racist etc for having the temerity to disagree with the political elite on here.

Personally, I think politicians of all coloured rosettes are chancers, who are desperate for power, with little thought for the man on the street.

From speaking and listening to work colleagues and locals from towns such as Boston and Skegness. Even some polish migrants singing Fuhrage praises about his stance on migration which i found ironic.
It is ironic but not at all unusual. That is my experience from conversations with migrants from all over the world. They are less burdened with the perception of racism and feel able to speak more freely, and it seems they can clearly do the maths.
