Reform 2025 Limited new name same business

I'm told that us living longer will inevitably entail a gradually increasing retirement age to qualify for a state pension
If this will help fill the labour supply gap with older but still healthy functional workers remains to be seen but when I spent some time in hospital recently several nurses had returned to full time work from retirementt voluntarily.

The people that want to raise the Retirement age to seventy because we are living longer are the very same people that won't offer employment to people over 60 .

I don’t agree. We had what 700,000 + last year and an average of about 600,000 the last few years. It’s completely unsustainable.

Even with those huge numbers of people we are no where near keeping up with the ageing population. Your solution seems to be completely uncontrolled immigration, which no population will accept. It doesn’t take into account infrastructure, cost or the effect it will have in the long term.

You’d need millions every year and that might not even cover it. What happens when those immigrants get older as well? Who looks after them? It would be a never ending cycle.

Every country in the world pretty much has an ageing population. You talk about the west, but the same is happening everywhere. Maybe it’s something we will just have to live with/ think of practical solutions.
I never said we should have uncontrolled immigrations so don’t put words in my mouth as I didn’t put any in yours. In fact I never said there was a solution. I think there probably isn’t one.

Going through the illegal immigration statistics - approx. 43000 illegal immigrants (at the time of arrival) came to Uk last year. And cost of public services to a UK national is approx £12k which is approx. £0.5bn a year.

If the people think £0.5bn a year extra in government coffers would solve all their problems, then they need to critically think again.

This issue is portrayed as a public services / financial stress issue but it really is not. It is a political point scoring issue, an emotive issue.

As far as I am aware it's the "illegall" immigration to be targeted not the controlled required skills. Need to stop trying to tie the 2 together they are not the same thing.
The latter accounts for the vast majority of immigration, so I’m referring to the one that unquestionably has the greatest impact. Would you prefer it if I referred to the one that has much less impact?

You may not like it but:

"
"As FactCheck has previously reported, it’s illegal to enter the country without a visa or special permission – but people who arrive by small boat are protected by international law if they claim asylum once they arrive."

So its illegal then?

Under International law they are not prosecuted whilst their claim is processed and even if its not successful, they are rarely if ever prosecuted or even removed but it was still illegal what they did.

Those who just disappear into society to society?

Also illegal.

It will reduce government spending quite significantly though.
I think any age restriction on employment has to be justified in terms of the Equality Act exemption provisions btw.

It does but let’s be honest here, employers have no compulsion to employ anyone and at interview stage, many of a certain age will be give their 45 mins only to be given a thanks but no thanks.

I’m 55 next and starting to suffer a few health issues, coupled with being 55 meaning I’m just starting to feel work and struggle at times with it but the thought of leaving and trying something new is a complete no no as I can imagine many employers not wanting to know.

Really hope you do find one.

May aswell repeat this over and over for every single party, chuck it in with 'they're all the same' and 'we just want something different' - its hollow cliche shite that everyone jumps on.

Yep great point but your missing the point of reform have never been in government so they are not tainted!

I don't want reform anywhere near government!

I'm making a point not being one eyed like most people do when it comes to people supporting there party! It just like football bias people see what they want to see!

My 89 year old mother needs a new knee, she's decided to dip into her life savings and pay the fee for the operation. She's completely housebound with little quality of life and has decided she can't wait a relative eternity for the NHS to do the job. Would it be possible for just 20k of that 0.5 billion to be given to her to cover the cost!
That's the reality of the illegal immigration gravy train and how it impacts our citizens. These people will have the begging bowl out for the rest of their lives if they are allowed to stay here. Who is more deserving of that money, my mother or those illegals?

Yes, Reform are the exact ‘change’ people wanted from UKIP, Brexit, Trump etc and it pretty much always gets worse.
There’s no way of getting this through to people based on those I saw interviewed on the streets yesterday - it’s all blame the migrants and ‘they’re all the same’ .. some really clever ones now use ‘we just want to give them a bloody nose’ bunch of absolute bandwagon thick plebs.

Do you think that £20k is not available to NHS to spend on your mums op? If you saw how much money is wasted by the government departments before the year end just because they have an unspent budget, you'd pull your hair out.

Sadly you are made to feel that £20k is not available because of money being spent on immigrants. £20k not being made available to you is a choice to slowly push people into private healthcare rather than the money not being available.

You really do believe that you're the moral custodian of the politics thread. Give your head a wobble and accept that your views are contrary to the silent majority in this country.

Bias thinking you presume they'll be like that we don't know! Look I know you'll come back with presumed evidence but they are none!

The government sees fit to write cheques for tens of millions every month to the hotel groups housing the illegals, I'm just asking them to sign a cheque for 20k for my mother. Do you see where I'm coming from? It's about choices and the government don't give a shit.
