Morgan Gibbs-White

I like Gibbs White as a player, despite his 'set to' with Rodri .... that ball off his from one wing to the other for Forests winner against us at their place was magnificent, as was his vision in seeing the opening ... and he almost took our crossbar off at Wembley last Sunday.

He's argueably been Forests best player all season for me, always prominent, always making things happen, always busy ..... Wirtz would be a terrific signing, but we saw with Leroy Sane that playing in England can affect your international chances, and especially if the German coach or manager isn't keen on travelling to watch him, so it could take an awful lot of 'tempting' or persuading for him to even consider joining City, and especially so if the stories of Bayern wanting him are true.

Diasgree mate, there are some players going to be leaving that have zero balance on our trading sheet now that will represent pure profit for PSR? Ederson, Ortega, Walker, Stones, Ake, Bernardo, Mcatee and Gundogan would all be clear profit? Then new signings are calculated over the yearly length of their contract so we still have big PSR allowances.
All the players you listed less Ederson and McAtee will need some sort of pay off to compensate for their loss on wages.

In saying that our wage bill is going to look a lot healthier and that is seemingly what the club wants this summer.

Ederson is wanting to go though isnt he? And the word on the street is he will be tripling his wages in Saudi so we wont have to pay him anything? Not sure what Mcatee is on but if he wants to go then he makes that call rather than the club?

Yes, Ederson and McAtee are the only ones that will help the balance sheet other than wages.

Bernardo, Stones, Ake, Gundo, Walker, Phillips will all need paying off, so whatever small fees we get for them will be used to pay them off.

Think its a myth about Sane and Germany, loads of players play outside Germany and play for Germany. Gibbs White would be a very good signing but has absolutely nothing to do with whether we sign Wirtz or don’t we will want both.

Forest were keen on Mcatee?
Isn't the major reason we are interested in MGW that he is homegrown? If we let McAtee go in the other direction we would be in no better position regarding that than before. Not to mention McAtee would probably be just as good as MGW if playing regularly for Forest.

Grealish is leaving as well apparently

McAtee is considered club trained for CL numbers, he doesnt really effect anything if he goes out. Talking pure registration anyway,

Not sure what you mean. He is considered both club trained and homegrown. He could with other word be used to cover one of the homegrown spots.

Sorry, should have been clearer.

Getting MGW means one of Carson, Stones, Ake & Grealish has to go. McAtee staying or going makes no difference to that. Last year of his contract, just a case of where he goes now.

Think it just boils down to player type, we have players who can do what McAtee can do in abundance, we don't in MGW really.

If we must sign MGW because we are in desperate need of a HG player, I just think the argument is flawed if we at the same time are willing to let a HG player like McAtee leave. Then there is no "must" that would excuse hugely overpaying, we would just prefer different ones than the ones we got. Which I could understand if the ones we bring in were either much better or better value, I find it hard to understand when it's MGW for 80m+. We cant be paying 80m+ for players that are not even close to being regular starters here. Or even worse, we actually see him as a regular starter and its time to get really worried if Viana is completely out of his depth.

Why is no one talking about the fee?

This is genuinely alarming.

How much will we even have left for Wirtz after this?
Because there hasn't been any fee or any report of what we are actually willing to pay, just rumors of Forrest taking the piss and wanting 100m

I'd be shocked if we offered over 60

Think he would be a regular starter and a good player in our next version. 2 seasons from now I think we might be comparing him with Bernardo. Has that energy, tenacity, good in tight spaces and sees a pass.
There may be equivalent foreign players that might be cheaper but the reason we would choose MGW is because he’s homegrown, doesn’t mean he’s a lesser player than the foreign players though just maybe a bit more expensive.
