Is there a reason it’s being commemorated today in the UK and not Thursday?
Make the best of it,all this will be gone soon,I’m surprised they’ve been allowed to put up the Union Jack

The antique roadshow VE day special was worth a watch last night too, I find it mind blowing how Europe recovered from 2 world wars and the horrors of it.
Perhaps they’re Australians…My other pet(ty) hate is those that fly the flag in their front gardens and fly it upside down:)
My dad was a toolmaker at AVRO's during the war (I still have his 'listed occupation' card) and may well have been working when this was made.Proudly built at the Avro factory in Chadderton. ( And Woodford as well I believe).
Hence why the Avro social club at the bottom of Broadway is called The Lancaster Club.
The Russians probably did as much or more than the rest of the allies put together but they don't seem to have been invited!Shouldn't we be putting up Old Glory insted of the Union Jack's? The movies seem to indicate that America won the war all by themselves after all.
