If we are looking at Florian Wirtz to replace him then looking at his stats for this season (and i confess i don't know much about him) and comparing them to Kevins who has been been playing with a lot of pain is he really that much of an upgrade.

Did he really have that much of a blinder of a season last year with 11 goals and 11 assists and 9 goals and 10 assists this season?

Keep him. Give him the money if necessary for a further year f necessary. I don't want him to go. I am not an accountant just a supporter so t's about emotion. He is our greatest in my lifetime. Just my opinion that's all.
I don't agree, myself. But that is one of the most sensible posts for keeping him, which I can actually totally get. Fair play.

City have been quite canny about letting the legends go, Aguero is a good example. King Kev could still be an asset, but a very expensive one for the number of games he might play next season. Consider we have done OK when he was out of action last season. Move on, and thanks to Kev for the memories

My concern is if he joins another English team. I hope he goes abroad like David Silva and Aguero did. It just wouldn't seem right if he turned out against City in the Premier League.

I've no idea if transfermarkt are considered a reliable source but for De Bruyne's final full season at Wolfsburg they have him down at 51 apps in all comps (Bundesliga, Europa League and DFB), 4,551 minutes total, 16 goals and 28 assists. A goal or assist every ~103 minutes.

By comparison Wirtz's last full season, 49 apps (Same comps), 3475 minutes played (Does he get subbed a lot?), 18 goals 20 assists. A goal or assist every ~91 minutes. This season so far he seems to be around a goal or assist every 111 minutes, compared with 152 minutes for Kev (And Kev has unsurprisingly played way less minutes).

Wirtz has dropped off a bit but then so have Leverkusen. The main thing is that he's 22, and Kev is 33. The trajectory for both players is heading in opposite directions and barring a huge injury to Wirtz that's not going to change.

I am in the keep him camp, but I also understand the reasons for leaving.

KDB is not a game changer anymore, or can play a full season at the level, that is what we need him to be, but KDB has got what money doesn't buy, 10 years of experience and flashes of magic and respect, we will need that around the camp

Thanks for that. I've now reached the age where I need to ask a 10yr old questions about footballers, especially foreign ones.

It’s like watching the end of a favourite tv show. Some shows finish on a high, you are left with the feeling of wanting more…breaking bad for myself but sometimes it’s better to leave it at the right moment.

So many tv shows return and don’t live up to the standard set. You could say the same with Gundo returning

I want Kev to do well wherever he goes and I want him to stay so that’s leads me to think we are parting at the right time.

for the club and Kev to anounce this we must be pretty confident his replacement is lined up, probably on a verbal agreement at this stage, no way the club would let go without having the correct player in, if not i'd be shocked

If anything the club wanted/needed him to perform to get top 4.

Reading kdb quotes, pep’s quotes and the info coming from TH. I think a u turn is on.

Maybe kdb needed that kick up the backside. Show us you can still perform and stay fit? Instead of just handing him another 12/18 months. It could be a clever play by city.

A rejuvenated kdb is a class player. Maybe he got too comfortable. Also send a message to the rest that you are not untouchable.

No downside I can see anyway.

Give him the new deal. Fuck common sense -:)

I wouldn't be surprised if they looked at the two things in isolation if I'm honest.

When fit, he’s still a world beater. By his own admission, he has nt been fully fit for most of the season due to injuries, but he’s putting in hard minutes and getting subbed off with a few mins to go. He’s one of the hardest workers, but, and I can’t emphasize this enough, Pep is playing him in the wrong positions!

He played CF, or most advanced midfielder, in the last game, which is bollocks. He needs to be a roving midfielder, who can move across the attacking midfielder line, and create chances.

Worlds best assisted and we play him at CF???
Oh, and we flog him to death chasing down the ball on the press!! BONKERS!! It’s like having expensive champagne with fish and chips!!

Give him a 1+1 option at £200,000 plus bonuses, with caveats, and let’s stop fucking around.

I hope he leaves on a high lifting the FA Cup and helping us to qualify for the Champions League. There is nothing else for him to achieve at Manchester City. He is free to decide where he wants to go. There is always life after a player leaves any club.
