  • The US Embassy in Stockholm is demanding an end to diversity, equity and inclusion policies among suppliers and others it works with.

It might work if they want a Swedish electrical firm to sign a contract saying they're got no DEI company policy, but not if they expect Swedish government agencies to comply.

You know the difference between a government demanding a city in another country changes its policy (which is what the tweet says) and a government supplier including clauses in their contracts that require a customer to meet certain standards of behaviour that are important to them (which is what the source article says).

I am not saying it makes any sense. I am only saying the tweet was misleading.

Government sanctioned data theft.

In many instances, DOGE turned up mob handed with either Federal law enforcement officers or other pseudo security types in order to force their way into facilities so they could gain unfettered access to highly sensitive data storage systems including IRS and social security records.

Script kiddies with hard drives full of sensitive personal data. I can't stress how bad that is in terms of a breach of data protection law.

As as supplier, I'd expect my customer not to be a massive bellend, otherwise I couldn't be arsed with the reputational damage of being associated with them.

Not sure how the 100,000 limit on UK cars imported into US will be administered, though.

Last year there were 101,000 - so buying a $100,000 Range Rover in December, how do you know whether it'll attract a 27.5% tariff or not?

Also, identical beef quotas? So the US can serve a massively higher proportion of the UK market without tariff, compared to vice-versa.

I’m telling you, when Trump finds out he’s Peruvian American, if Leo tries to enter the country again he’ll be stopped at immigration and checked for tattoos.

Deportation to El Salvador beckons.

Stay in the Vatican Leo, is my advice.
