This post bothers me.

1stly, there is just no need for it or for you calling the previous post weird.

2ndly, you've now put on your internet police helmet and have taken offence or umbrage where it absolutly isn't needed or justified.

Why do you lot do this?

Are you after internet points or something?

Jesus he's still banging on about it :)

As an alternative viewpoint:

Would it be such a blue-moon tragedy if he did turn up at say Utd?
He'd be on massive money which would be a real drain on their coffers and the reality is that whilst he'd get 40 mins or so a week out of his legs, he wouldn't be able to do a heavy schedule and would just become the footballing version of a black hole for them, dragging them down?

Eh, no, even with that scenario i couldn't stomach to see him in a red shirt.

Don't do this Kev. Just sod off to America and enjoy retirement.

Said some nobody on twitter. And people still to this day parrot it like the gospel, which they always do when something is put as a tweet.

Completely ignoring what both the player and the club said.

He wanted to leave. He chose to leave. On a high, at the right time, for a new challenge. He wrote a whole letter about it. Bin the fucking twitter narrative.
Easy there, killer!

I was already corrected and apologized for the error…something I won’t be doing to you. Bin the shit attitude!

I guess if he’s out with the lads and sees the likes of (for example) Grealish getting hammered, well that’s just not his scene so he may come across as being “cold” where as I see him as just feeling awkward in that kind of setting where he’d just rather not be.
As the song goes
“It’s happy hour again,
I think I would be happy
If I wasn’t out with them….”
No this was in a professional/work sitiution. But i see why you thought i meant socially as in out/out.

In my pals capacity of his daily job, working with KDB , he said he was cold and spikey. Even a tad arrogant

He also said he was uber professional so i dont mean it as a bad thing.

I think he IS icy in many interviews

Completely different. Why would he not see his kids?

I didn't say he wouldn't see his kids. I was replying to your comment about his situation.

I was simply saying, I don't see mine for four months at a time. That's my reality. Not wondering where I might have to play football, or in which country. Anyway, I am not complaining, my choice, it's a good job. Just as Kevin's is....albeit much better paid :)

You’re better paid than Kev?

Can you lend me a tenner :)

I read it back. It is fine. The tone you are looking for isn't there.

We are clearly different people. The tone is most definitely there. It’s not fine over a nothing issue.

You acted like I was stupid Twitter parrot, when I was merely reiterating things that were commonly stated.

Neither you nor I knows what goes on, or is said, behind closed doors, so all we have to go on is what we hear or read.

As I said, I’d already apologized for my error to someone who provided more constructive input.

We will both survive.

If it came across that way, it was not intended. I also posted before I saw your response to others. Happy to move on.

Interesting that in the Aguero documentary, Pep says that, despite everything, relationships with players deteriorate towards the end (he said it didn’t with Sergio) but it made me wonder about Pep and Kev now and the little comments in interviews.

Its sad and frustrating that he is leaving. The one question I had wondered was - is/was he still injured. Apart from the hamstring, then he revealed he had the hernia issue. So, I think from the perspective of the club, it was frustrating for them to have him on the sideline for so long. 30 games in 23/24. 12 in 24/25. I assuming the club has asked him how he's feeling and whether he can still play. But they decided that he is on the wrong side of 32 and they need to move on. Keep him for the sake of keeping him? I don't know.

Think the club made a rash decision while he was still returning to fitness and they thought he was done at this level. Clearly he’s not. Don’t forget, he’s been asked to play in a team that is struggling in midfield with aging and out of form players and no Rodri. You put him in that Dipper team or Bayern Munich and you might see him still perform at the very highest level. His fitness levels are getting better and he’s still closing down defences late in games.

Yea he is one of the aging out of form players you are talking about though .

You shouldn't forget "they" know better than you. They see him in training and know his state. They knew Aguero was done and they were right to let him go.

Which is the level you are talking about? Playing against Palace and Wolves (and he was average vs. Wolves)? Kevin had plenty of chances against top opposition and he did nothing, being one of our worse performers against Real, Liverpool, Arsenal, etc. We trashed Newcastle and Chelsea without him.

he still has the vision and ability to pick out an assist.

but that 2-3 minutes of genious cannot cloud out he is a near passenger for 90% of most games now, yes Palace he was as good as he can be, but then he was lost at everton and a bit part v wolves.

If sentimental, yes it would be nice if we had a strong midfield round him and he could just sit deep pinging balls around, but praticalities are if we were only getting 20 games put of a 60 game season, it makes no sense to keep him esppecially on hos wage.

Add to that there is a short fall in real talent available and as with Neves last year, waiting and keeping players out of loyalty will see us lose out on targets we need for tge next 10 years

Kevin DeBruyne is one of the best we have had, and one of the best the PL has seen.
He isn't the same player even though he can produce moments of magic.
It is time.

There can also be other issues to consider, including financial ones. And, like nobody can deny that Sir Alex Ferguson was a legend at Manchester United, his continued presence made it hard for the new team to move on. Sometimes, the reasons for a clean break are not so obvious, but leaders have to make those difficult calls.
