He probably ‘wants’ a 3 year deal at £400k a week. Do we give that to him because he wants it?

Or do we pay that money to his replacement who’s going to be here for the next 8 years?
 
To many guessing what he does and doesn't want based on fuck all. I would offer him a playing/coaching role on less money than he currently earns.
He has certain skills and knowledge that should not be wasted.

Tough one, well you give him a basic coaching salary but I don't know what city coaches are on and a base playing salary with a bonus payment when fit enough to be selected.

He may obviously not wish this but I don't believe he believes he's currently at a level for a 400k a week salary

Does he want to be a coach, is he any good at coaching? If he takes up a squad place and prevents us buying a replacement ,what happens if he has a first 6 months like this season ?
If he only plays once a week who plays the other once a week?
Its time sad but we need to move on.

I don't know if he wants it, I think I said as much. With regards a squad place I think people are overly hopeful about tye amount.of great signings we can pull.off.
We won't win the league or CL if we get rid of all our experienced players.
Our recent signings so far have been very average if we want to win the big stuff

I don’t think that many will leave, I agree we need to keep some experience in the squad,but we we need at least 3 to leave just to bring in a replacement for Kevin,then pretty much one in one out. Walker and Phillips one way or another should be easy. Gundogan is staying, probably Silva too. Grealish could be replaced by MGW, Kovacic if he leaves for a fullback.
Basically what I’m saying is ,to make room to replace Kevin ,Kevin needs to leave.

I don't know who will definitely leave or stay and neither does anyone else. KdB is unique in his talent though.

So if Kev says ‘I’ll take a pay cut to £350k a week’. What would your response be as Soriano or whoever makes these decisions.

He can walk away and probably 3x in the USA and at least 5x in Saudi

I wouldn't know, was he expecting another contract? What was the value, was he prepared to take less? Was he prepared to have clauses in?

All im saying is I think he has some value to us if he wanted to stay. Nothing more.
 
my only comment, re worth keeping, time to let go etc...is, it really should not be in the public domain. Kev looks greedy, the club looks cheap. Should have been sorted behind closed doors(it may have been, but not to Kev's satisfaction or understanding) The last thing we want is a slanging match between management and one of our best-ever player.
