It’s Quiet 20 - What is the Wirtz that could happen?

If we are going the data signings route with Viana. I understand the links to Trincao, best creator in Portugal this season and one of his strengths is ability to break down low blocks, press resistant and keeps possession. He fits what we need
With certain players linked away I can see this one happening

Putting good money on people saying 'he flopped at Wolves, its only Sporting' at the same time they'd love Vitinha here ,

Well if no Wirtz we will probably incorporate a way to have Marmoush and Haaland playing together all the time.

Foden needs to re discover his best form which he will and MGW can play higher if needed (if signed) but it also gives Muskusa and Echeverri a better chance of playing eventually.
Bobb too. Just thinking to myself passing time and wondering about Pep. The reason he says he signed a new contract was he couldn't leave us as we were. Maybe he isn't too bothered about winning CL, obviously he'll try and would like to. Maybe though it isn't his top priority.
I wonder if what he'd really like now is to leave in 2 years with his legacy a great young team and squad, made up of players like Haaland, Foden, O'Reilly, Echeverri, Bobb,Khusonov,Reis, Gonzalez, Marmoush.Maybe others too.

Gvardiol was the last top class player we bought.

We need to change that this summer, big time, or we won’t get back on top. Watching the CL semi finals this week has just demonstrated how much improvement we need to make this summer.

Missing out on Wirtz puts us under pressure and the club needs to respond.

Yeah, his numbers this season are ridiculously good, 8 goals and 14 assists. Seems to have matured at Sporting. He’s been consistent for a couple of seasons now, 9 goals and 6 assists the season before and then the season before that 10 goals 2 assists.

Linked with Ekitike don’t understand that link but it’s from BILD wrote by a Frankfurt journalist.

Forgot about Trincao! I think we will get him as we were strongly linked a couple of months ago and iuts now gone quiet, dare i say done?

Just to keep an eye on but Viana signs players that didn’t do well elsewhere. We might be linked to players that have had a big move but it didn’t work out, but have improved since joining another team.

Cambiaso said he overlaps at LB and inverts at RB. But this system we’re playing doesn’t suit him. We’re playing inside forwards. Likely Marmoush LW and Foden RW. We need athletic fullbacks that are good tacklers and know how to run up and down the pitch. He’s not a good defender and he’s not fast. That’s why Ait Nouri and Vanderson are better suited for us imo. They’re good duel winners and have pace n power. Good ages too.

Snooze fest: the younger guys like Nunes and Kova leave but Bernardo and Gundo stay lmao. Wirtz ain’t coming. That rebuild lacks any ambition. Won’t scare anyone in the UCL

thad model worked at Sporting, but i doubt that would work for us.

But the club would have known how Viana works? Not going to last long if they dont back his decisions?
You don’t win the lottery and carry on holidaying at butlins.

Being at City is a different beast to sporting and we don’t progress forward on budget unproven players.

But this is Man City we're talking about... you know Man City... lol

We have a track record of delivery. Why not accept that we have recruited a new DOF to buy the players the club believe will help the whole team? This will probably include some young players, some squad players, and some stars because the whole squad is what will deliver ongoing success, not eleven superstars and little else.
