Quite a tight game when we met earlier in the season, one of Haaland’s profligate ones. Seem to remember them being quite good at drawing us up and passing around us, yet with no cutting edge. Interestingly, we pretty much field the same side today as in October, only with de Bruyne and McAtee replacing Nunes and Savinho.

I really hope Akanji is at fullback. No reason at all to break up the Dias Gvardiol centre back partnership, been the bedrock of our recent good form.

He broke it up last match when he put Gvardiol at LB when Akanji came on

It makes sense to give him a rest before wembley

Decent selection up front (although no wing speed), and I can just about comprehend the midfield (Nico Gonzalez is getting very short shrift these days isn't he, though? Bernardo's been generally good, and I suppose that's the reason).
But why oh why does Pep keep fucking around with this back line? Is it some kind of malady he's got? A tic in the brain? Pick a back four, give them time to get to know each other's relexes, and then stay with it.
This relatively poor season is mainly on the players, but Pep's selection is part of it. No question, in my view.
