Pep needs to find a way to get us playing with dynamism when Haaland is on the pitch. It’s no real surprise that when we go back to having a static focal point, occupying the two centre backs who never touches the ball, that it makes everyone else’s game more restrained. Without Haaland, and with the two false 9s, it creates space for others to dart into. We could have more forward runners because of it. With Haaland we are infinitely more boring. It’s just a fact, notwithstanding him being a brilliant finisher.

It just feels like that awful pre Christmas stretch where our entire plan was dawdle into the wing and wait for the other team to set up the low block before trying to get the ball in to the area.

The right side is shite. Lewis and McAtee. Neither can take on a player, and neither is good enough a crossing to put it in the box instead. Lewis is best as an inverted full back when we have a proper winger on the pitch, and McAtee's strength is arriving in a position to score. And the left is just as bad. Basically Gvardiol by himself with no-one to play off. I said near the start of the game, if you're going to play all of these narrow forwards who all prefer to play inside, then you have to start Nunes and O'Reilly.
 
When the Dips have been in games like this where they need the points, but can't break teams down they get a helping hand penalty. Seems like that rule doesn't extend to us....denied 2 by the sound of it.

Complete agenda to stop City getting top 5. Mind we aren't helping ourselves.

Awful half. We are fucking dire to watch these days.

The team setup is dogshit and that’s on Pep. Theres an unreal amount of space out wide but Pep has decided that our width is going to come from two full backs, who either can’t beat a man, or won’t. Everything just ends up coming back inside to where it’s all crowded and Southampton are delighted with that.

The front 4 have been anonymous. Foden continuing his bad season. KDB doesn’t know that we are playing in blue and McAtee is so far below our level it’s unreal. Haaland hasn’t touched the ball any more today, than he has over the last 6 weeks.

Get Nunes on for Rico. Doku on for McAtee and get the ball out wide.
 
Reckon we could finally get a chance to see O’Reilly play in midfield. Creating nothing here, could do with a young attacking midfielder to run and create.
