To be fair Southampton are more guilty than Pep.

As is the ref, Ramsdale taking 25-30 seconds to take a goal kick.

We need a kick up the arse from Pep and a couple of subs, insipid stuff this.
You were expecting arguable the worst PL side in history to come out and play football?

We've been playing one game a week for a while, plenty of time on the training pitch to sort it out. I don't see any progress.

A bit of movement and a higher tempo of passing to find the runs might be nice, but it's sunny in Manchester and I imagine we can't have everything.

Highlights of that 1st half will be sparse.

I remember the days when we used to pass 2 yards in front of team mates so they could move forward onto the pass. Now every fuckin ball is either behind or hit into them.

Absolute dire performance. ..

Someone belittled me the other week when i said we would struggle at Southampton.

Worst we've played for a while.

Can't see much changing next season. This is Pep's idea of football. The players might change but the patterns of play and tempo won't. Football is moving on and leaving Pep behind. Everything is safety first and he's hoping to bore the opposition into a mistake.

I've happily criticised Pep for his selections this season but I don't see what the problem is with this one. We've completely controlled it from the first minute to the last and if Kevin's free kick had been an inch lower we'd be saying what a solid performance it's been.

We need to be a bit quicker around the box but that's it really, and Southampton will get tired from all this chasing. Defending tires you out faster than attacking and we've got loads of options on the bench to change things. Marmoush will be coming on for McAtee soon, I'm sure.

And it's still 0-0 against the worst team in the PL.

They've been battered by every other team.

James struggling to get into the game. I’d swap him for Marmoush and give Saints something to worry about. They’re happy to have a game of attack v defence and are just crowding us out. Haaland not had a decent opportunity yet… pass, pass, pass.
If he's not dominating a game against the worse team in the pl, then perhaps it's time to wake up and admit that he's not going to make it here

I get your point and I think it's how we are playing rather than the line up, but when the high point is a close free kick, you have to realise it hasn't worked that well. Control is great, but this is a shite Southampton and we should have created more

I'd bring on both Nunes and O'Reilly. They have sparked our attack in recent weeks, and then both get dropped. Marmoush needs to come on as well.

Passing needs to be quicker, and we need to mix our game up. All very predictable. It has been for a number of games though and it's all part of ensuring we are better balanced defensively. Hot day like today, Doku coming on to run at their full back will help! It would be nice to score early and win by a few though.
