Florian Wirtz

Hence the recent German media push…

I’m amazed they’ve offered a better wage/package than us given we’re shedding £375,000 per week in the position he’d come into.

I'm sure the German media pushed the narrative recently about Wirtz not looking at a financial implication, even the interview stating he doesn't check his bank account etc, so this coming out pushing that Bayern have offered the more lucrative financial package for Wirtz "shouldn't" appeal to him, but let's see!

Wirtz doesn't want to stay at Bayern for the rest of his career. That was briefed from his side if he did join them. So I'm wondering if this is bayern trying get him now as they are afraid of when his contract runs down he will have a pick of clubs to choose from. Getting German media to put pressure on him.

Sign him up on a seven year deal which gives us either five seasons before he goes to Bayern for a huge fee or we tie him up for a further five seasons (10 seasons in total) with a renewal. Get it sorted this month.

we need to get this over the line. we need to offer access to some promising youth players on loan with option to buy. or discounted price for McAtee if they are interested. I think he is better off there than something like Forest-Fulham etc...

without a top creator like him coming through the door this summer the window can be a bit bleak. and not many creators like him around.

Blow Bayern out of the water.

How many fucking times in the last 10 years have we read that players only want us and have agreed personal terms, only for them to fuck off elsewhere because another club is on better terms with the selling club or have offered a bigger wage package? Him and his family wanting Bayern means nothing if we find our big-club, financial-juggernaut-big-boy pants again. We have hardly wore them in the transfer market with Txiki.

Wirtz is the kind of talent that you put all the cards on the table for, especially with the state of our midfield

Says who? Last i heard he wanted to come here but his dad wants Munchen.
Not sure it’s anywhere near as decided as some are suggesting. Bayern are pushing the line that he wants to join them, his side haven’t confirmed (or denied) this. Leverkusen seem convinced nothing is decided yet and that he may even stay.
I’d still make Bayern favourites, all told. But I don’t think it’s done yet.
let’s hope we’re doing everything we possibly can to persuade him we’re the better option.

Hes off to Bayern. Doesnt matter what we offer, the players family and likely the player prefer Bayern. Theyll sit there, play politics and get what they want. If he wanted to sign for us this would already be done.
