Yesterday was by far our easiest game of the 3 we had left.

How can that be arrogance.

The reigning 4 times Champions going to a team that was relegated with 11 points from 35 games.

We needed the 3 points, they didn't.

They were fucking shite mate, they just turned out as an obligation.

Whatever the result it meant absolutely nothing to them but the 3 points were fucking huge for us.
There lowly teams and there's the second worst team in Premier League history.

After the draw at Southampton, what are our prospects?

I was very disappointed with the Southampton game but some of the other games went our way. I watched Bournemouth v Villa and Bournemouth look like they have lost the impetus they once had. City are getting back some players now, and I think that we will be able to rotate players after the FA Cup so that we will have enough fit players to be competitive.

This is my final league table

Liverpool
Arsenal
City 69
Newcastle 69
Chelsea 69
Villa 67
Forest 62

City
20 May City v Bournemouth 3 points
25 May Fulham v City 1 points
Finish 69 points

Newcastle
18 May Arsenal v Newcastle 0 points. This is becoming a grudge match so I think Arsenal will win it if they are motivated.
25 May Newcastle v Everton 3 points.
Finish 69 points
Forest
18 May West Ham v Forest 0 points
25 May Forest v Chelsea 0 points
Finish 62 points

Chelsea
16 May Chelsea v Man Utd 3 points. Utd will rest players for the midweek Europa League Final
25 May Forest v Chelsea 3 points. Forest rely too much on MGW and Chelsea are very strong in midfield.
Finish 69 points

Villa
16 May Villa v Spurs 3 points
25 May Man Utd v Villa 1 point. I think Utd will want to win their final game at OT and will no longer be focused on the Europa League.
Finish 67 points

United final game at OT this season you mean?

They won't move into the new ground for around 5 years

No. When they still had a sliver of a chance of staying up they were playing more attack-minded football and left themselves vulnerable to being picked off, which they were, a lot. Then they got relegated and stopped playing for pride. So they sacked their manager and brought in Simon Rusk, who has clearly just told them to park the bus until they get to 12 points, which they now have. Which is why they'll get battered at Everton and lose against Arsenal. Our game against them was just bad timing.
Bad timing? You’re talking like they were coming off the back of a 10 game unbeaten run?

7 days previous they were convincingly beaten by a dreadful Leicester side with the same manager and set of players.

Don’t try and make excuses for Saturdays result, there can be no excuses for not winning that game.

Uniteds last 2 league games are Chelsea Away and Villa at Home - who both need the points desperately - so Id all but guarantee they finish with 39pts, which in a normal year would likely see you relegated.
Nothing like true.

In the 30 odd years since the PL was reduced to 20 teams, four teams have been relegated with 39 or more points:

Sunderland (40 points): 1997.
Bolton (40 points): 1998.
West Ham (42 points): 2003.
Birmingham City (39 points): 2011.

Absolutely agree 100%. If they'd had to get something to have a chance of staying up they would have had to give it a go and we would have picked them off. I honestly expected that result was a strong possibility.

FWIW I think we'll win both remaining matches but I also think we'll make the top 5 with one more win.

European Papa Johns trophy final is on Wednesday
Absolutely unacceptable that rule I tell you makes no sense whatsoever. I understand why games should not be generally scheduled for European nights and obviously if the Scum were playing in Salford that evening then so be it. But these idiots are off annoying the venerable folk of the Basque Country and we are forced to suffer. They can conveniently change their meaningless end of season fixture to their satisfaction but yet we are fucked over. Why?

Surely they should be playing on Thursday as it's the final of the Thursday League. Unless the Thursday Conference final is on Thursday.
Not sure why the scum should be playing in Salford unless the final was at Moor Lane or the AJ Bell.

Odd how people are so clueless, even some of their own fans think they are in Salford despite the signs crossing the bridge etc.

I would imagine that no top league football is agreed to be played whilst they have a show piece final on. I don't see any reason why we couldn't play Thursday though with our last game being on Sunday
