City’s New Kits

Well it's what we wore between 1894 and 1951. So you could definitely say it's our most traditional and consistent kit. Granted, from then onwards we wore sky blue (and occasionally white or even hooped) socks until the late 80s. Since the 00s it's been more inconsistent. Lots of people like the sky blue socks, but for me the overall look is softer. A bit too 'nice' maybe?

I'm biased though as I started watching us in the early 90s (David White, Keith Curle etc.) and we were wearing navy socks then. I guess we all prefer the first kit we saw City play in.

My first game was 1960 and therefore seen a variety of socks! I do quite like the navy socks and didn’t realise they went that far back. I like the old fashioned sky blue and white hooped socks though.

I think it's just a promotional video with no great meaning behind it. I think the beam of light is just that, the shirt has a white sash that looks like a normal home shirt with a light shone across it.
