Reform 2025 Limited new name same business

Tidal is a logistical nightmare. And the infrastructure costs are astounding.
I like the idea of small-scale hydro. The Ship Canal tried it at the sluices at locks but the amount of logs and other debris spoiled it. The new weir at Warrington (at the same height as lock gates) produces electricity and there's even an Archimedes type screw generator on an old canal lock (made redundant when the Ship Canal opened). If they'd put turbines in the Thirlmere Aqueduct that could produce 300mW! (Maybe - see https://www.altenergymag.com/articl...taking advantage of gravity-driven water flow )

300mW is no good to man nor beast

I read that up to now 22 Reform councillors have no intention of doing their jobs and will stand down. Thats really tough on councils trying to do work with depleted councillors AND each re-election costs minimum £10k for each council from the Party that pledges to make savings

I hope not serious!

A bit like Reform's backing for Musk's plan to send a rocket to the sun. "But won't it burn up?"

"That's the clever thing. We're going at night."
It was just a play on the old Irish joke, not the sharpest tool in the box eh

Just seen Farage snapping to a Sky News question. He may dress well, and give the impression that he is one of you and me, but there’s no hiding his contempt for this country.

Doubtless entered never expecting to win now has 4 years to reveal his organisational talents

Looks petrified and don't blame him. Not being harsh but I hope someone with a bit more experience was interviewing the Freeport chair candidates alongside him.

Normally in a situation like this you'd expect his party to put some sort of support network round him as he has no experience and it's going to be quite high profile if he f**ks up. However I'm not aware that Reform have much access to people with a delivery track record so he might have to sink or swim.

Think only one new councillor dropped in my neck of the woods so far. They've appointed a cabinet and first full council meeting is next week so we'll soon see what's what.

if not and if Freeports are the smuggling opportunities we have been told then if he does it alone he will be leaping into a shark tank with a side order of piranha fish

these lot are just gonna cause trouble - waste money with re-run elections and scaring off green jobs from their area then get booted out on their arses. If thats the case by the next elections Farage will already have left and formed the Peoples Popular Front for Brexit
