Cup Schemes - 2025/26 | Deadline Friday 27th June 5pm

I don’t like mid week matches because I am reliant on Metrostink, and also can’t stand the corrupt money making Champions (and anybody else) League.

I only do the FA Cup in the vain hope I will see a match on a Saturday at 3pm.

I have been doing this for a good number of years now.

Thanks for the deadline info.

So no excuses from the club really, 2 months to give us a pricing structure for the UEFA scheme. With the additional games it's the least they could do.
The CL or EL draw won't be until the end of August and the club won't set prices until they know who we're playing.
They dropped a mega-bollock last autumn by charging so much for the first game (Inter Milan; a repeat of the 2023 final) without giving any indication of the likely prices for the other three games. I think several fans withdrew from the scheme before the deadline after the Milan prices were announced and then missed cheaper prices for the rest.
The gap between how fans think and how the club thinks is astonishing; hopefully the recent protests and relatively poor home ticket sales will sharpen the club's thinking.

That’s a good point. I qualified for PSG away tickets this year on my measly points balance and I was really tempted to go. And if we get to another final I would definitely go. Well maybe not if it’s at the Ataturk.
Ataturk was fine if you didn't listen to any advice from UEFA.

Unfortunately those on the day trips had no choice, really. We were told there would be priority buses for us by the tour operator too.

Tbh I was chilled anyway. I already had a reserve plan in place in case we missed the flight which was flying to one of the coastal resorts then into Manchester later that day. I’d do it again.

me and the lad will be out of all 3, he's 18 in august,up to him
if he wants to stay in any of them, but he will have to pay instead of bank of dad.
i just renewed for us both this week, told him it's the last year I can afford this.

Have always been in all 3. Dropped Euros for next season - turns into Disney Land on a Euro night and increasingly harder to get to from work midweek.

I'm aware that we have a season ticket thread but just wanted to see what the consensus was on cup schemes next season. Who's doing what?

I was in all 3 this year but planning to drop the League Cup and Champions League/UEFA Scheme.

The League Cup is going for sure. Mid-weeks aren't great but are made worse with the lack of announcements regarding pricing, they just make it up as they go along, especially the Champions League games and for the first time since we've been in Europe I found the group stage completely tedious and meaningless.

Probably stay in the FA Cup as it's usually a weekend and costs in that competition for the last 2-3 seasons have been the best value for money.

Edit: I think the deadline is the 27th June.
All 3 for me. Pensioner this year, so many years of my life were football misery I am continuing to live the dream

I’ve done all three cup schemes for the past few seasons, but I’m leaning toward dropping the League Cup too. Midweek matches are rough when you’ve got work early the next day, and the pricing for some tie-ups just hasn’t felt worth it lately. The FA Cup feels more relaxed overall, better kickoff times and easier to plan. When I skip matches now, I usually get tickets last-minute instead. I’ve had decent luck finding a reliable site where you can buy tickets close to game day.

Dropped the CL and Carabao Cup.

Kept the FA Cup.

Cheap tickets. Weekend matches. Good away games. Good away support at the Etihad.

Kept Platinum to soften losing the CL and Carabao Cup points.

TBH, as I'm up at 4am for work, going to the CL matches was a ball ache.

Not to mention more group games, and a possible additional knockout game, more money.
Must admit. I considered dropping the CL due to the nightmare of getting their midweek and then getting home and up at 5am. Hanging on by a thread for that comp. Plus, I’m just not enjoying it.

FA cup I’ll always keep for the same reasons you mentioned. Prem for me, then FA cup. League cup, champs league last.

Dropped CL this season and that was fully justified after I sat through that bore-fest with Inter, plus the rest of the miserable campaign. Came out of the other two for next season on the grounds that I'll get a semi-final or final ticket if I want one.

I have dropped the European games for next season for a combination of reasons, partly cost and partly personal. I was only in the Carabao for double points when in all 3 so no reason to stay in that either.

I think the club got the ticket prices badly wrong this year. And the public transport situation doesn’t help.

The pricing in the cup games is an issue too.

There doesn't seem to be any structure in place for CL tickets, it's like a number is plucked from the air 2-3 weeks before the game.

Correct. Yet again, we're the only one of the major clubs who do that. All the others, at least for the group stages, fix prices in advance. I paid £48 iirc to sit cold, bored and miserable to watch that Inter game and thought "Fuck this, I'm watching the rest on TV from the warmth of my lounge".

Of course I could be wrong.

I think the club got a shock when they saw the drop out figure for next seasons CL cup scheme during the season ticket renewal period, if BM is anything to go by.

Obviously the club hope football tourists will take up the drop off, but it I don't think they will.

There will be an extra 8000 CL seats to fill next year as well.

I can only see more CL away fans in the home ends as match tickets will be much more available, and the club will want to shift them, which will cause more trouble and problems next season in the CL.

I said the same thing to my daughter when she turned 18…….
She’s 30 now and I’m still paying….. and for the lad too….
The joys of being a Dad eh???
(And I wouldn’t change a thing. Quality time, memories for life, money can’t buy that)

The club dropped a major bollock only announcing Inter prices at the time. This was always going to be the most expensive game but fans didn't have a clue how much the other three games would be. City fans feared the worst when Villa announced stupid prices for all four home CL games.
Dynamic pricing doesn't work when so many fans don't trust those thinking up random price structures. The extra seats will be very difficult to shift if we're in a play-off next February.
