I understand it takes quite a lot of effort and focus to become a top footballer these days. Also that you can be easily misled and surrounded by hangers on who don't have your best interests at heart.
It's just possible he might have chosen to focus on football to avoid distractions, and only trusts his parents to look out for his true best interests.
