Just read that and it says he didn't meet any one from City either when there's like 10 journalists closer to the story saying him and his family did. Chancer

Imagine Man City want to calm it all down about Wirts because they know Wirts will come but only if we have champs league! So it's Man City who mention to kicker that Liverpool have had talks to! Then all the talk is mainly about them change the narrative! We all know when it's anything to do with Liverpool the media change in a heartbeat with there narrative!


Probably all bullshit I posted but why so much talk and confusion about all this?! Or is it just how social media works now?
 
I think a lot of you are over thinking the Liverpool element.

It’s a journalist who wants clicks, we all know if you mention Liverpool or united you’re going to get them. You can’t mention united anymore as they are a joke so he’s just flung liverpools name out.
Started a frenzy and its clicks galore!

Then ornstein etc have reached out to Liverpool to see if there’s any truth to which Liverpool have said “yeah we would want him, but I think he’s staying in Germany”

Its how social media and more concerningly media work now, this whole wirtz to liverpool narrative was created by one speculative report in kicker by an unknown journalist with absolutely nothing to verify it, then its picked up by more 'credible' journalists who put their own spin in because they are terrified of being shown to be out of the loop and just like that off the rumour goes.

You just answered your own question, mate.
 
Ornstein would get a steer from the clubs or agents rather than being persuaded to write a puff piece based on what another journalist has written. His career is about being a credible voice on transfers - very rarely gets it wrong (Kvara was!) because he verifies shit. The bit yesterday smacked of him being told by Liverpool to squash the chat about them meeting Wirtz.
