Crystal Palace (N) | FA Cup Final | Post Match Thread

Back to back loses to showers of shite in the FA Cup. This competition is not really our turf and forte, the Carabao Cup is and frankly I prefer to win that this one.

When we found it difficult to score against Southampton, a team that had conceded 82 goals, it highlighted our ineffectiveness in attack. This is now our second straight game without a goal, which is troubling. If Pep doesn’t modify our playing style and team composition, we could encounter an unexpected challenge and jeopardize our standing in the Champions League.

Which one?
And the answer is no they'd get bummed,by either.
exactly

The quality of the whole squad has dropped off a cluff due to aging and bad purchases.

Gundo, KDB who were absolutely key are both finished - worry one will still be here next year
Foden - when played he is being played out of position..never a wide player - but lso form has gone.

Then the likes of Sav and Doku rare HUGE downgrades on Sterling, Mahrez and Sane

no cover for Rodri - even though we bought one in Jan - so puzzling - but for me its cause Pep is showing too much loyalty towards the old guard...

No fullbacks

Has Pep bought anyone who has improved the team? All our decent players were already here when he arrived

Of course he has. You don’t stay at a club for 10 years, win the trophies he has without making any decent signings.

I hate the revisionism when it comes to Pep. He took over a City side massively on the decline, just like he did at Barca, and has done a fantastic job that no other coach could emulate.

His poor season doesn’t detract from that.

I would really like to say Palace deserved it, but I dont think they did, fair enough they won it and thats all that matters but what was going on when the keeper handled outside the box?,
At the very least its a free kick for City outside the box & a yellow card for the keeper? possibly a free kick for city outside the box and a sending off for the keeper? but unless I saw it wrong the ref gave nothing? how can you give nothing when VAR can clearly see the keeper has handled the ball outside the box? how does that work?
To be honest I thought we played ok & I dont think we had any players that stunk the place out but Palace wanted it more than us both on and off the pitch.

They were though, they had a game plan and executed it perfectly.

Did you expect them to come out and play like peak Barca?

They relied on luck at times but even if VAR made the correct decision and sent the keeper off, we’d probably still not have scored.
It’s fucking pathetic anti football…

It’s no better than Wimbledon and the like booting it long..

People getting giddy in the media because Southampton and Palace have humbled the evil empire..

Who’s going to pay £60 or £70 a ticket to watch that shit.

I despise Klopp and the dippers as much as anyone but his method was capable of blowing that approach away, a peak Klopp team puts 4 or 5 past them today.

I’m not advocating we go that way but we do need to learn some lessons.

Its often only a packed defence as we are too slow and not forward thinking giving every team time to set up.
We are the easiest team in the league tonally against. Full stop.

Opposition manager team talk.

Sit deep, 10 men behind the ball. Wait for their midfield to give a shit ball and break with pace.

1 Nil.

Easy.

Just spent an hour rummaging around in the loft, but YES!!!!!! I've found it......

It'll come in handy next season.

A sad end to the Pep dynasty, all on the club World Cup and CL qualification now to save our season
May not be so yet. Last time we won nothing, we hit 100 points the following season. He will have to change the way we play though.

Meanwhile, kind of hoping United try some Tevez-like move with De Bruyne, reckon they’d finally go down.

Smacked arses everywhere. Cheer the fuck up. We’ve had over a decade of ridiculous success.

Today wasn’t our day. We’ve had an off season, it’s hardly the end of the fucking world.

Fair play to Palace. They had their game plan and it worked for them. They were VERY lucky to avoid a red card, but shit happens. Hope all their fans have a great night like we did in 2011.

We’ll be back.

Yes we have lost another final but i just want the whole shitshow sorting out.
The fuckin charges for a start.
Then the biased media, every so called pundit making a living on the back of dissing us permanently,
which in turn funnels down to the officials in this country.
Our club as allowed this shit to happen so much so it has become the norm and it fucks me right off.
We need a total reset or we will forever be known as the cheats/bad cunts of football.

By the way well done Palace but you hardly deserved it
