I can forgive poor form but not pulling out of tackles…..happened right in front of where I was sat.

We are simply not good enough any more to carry players like that…..compare with that with Echeverri who gave everything when he came on….should have scored though !

What Pep’s doing with the lad is the exact same thing we all slagged Southgate off for.

He’s clearly the best footballer we’ve got.

You play to his strengths, you play him on the right wing, with an overlap. Let him run a game.

You don’t move him here, there and everywhere to suit what you want to do. You create a system around him and the best number 9 in world football!

He’s made another adjustment this season which is slower, and it’s crippling our best players

He played right wing. Essentially where he played last season and was brilliant.

His confidence is shot and his cul-de-sac passes down the line are infuriating. If he’s not doing that then he just passes backwards.

Gone from an exciting dribbler with an end product to a boring footballer. Has the ability to stand out but seems happy to bed in with the rest.
I meant he shouldn't be playing Right wing. He should be playing inside Right. He should be the guy standing wherever Akanji was standing most of the game. In other words he should get the ball and have a full back overlapping to his right with an option of either beating his man inside to take a shot or run at goal or cut it outside to an overlapping RB hugging the line.

The exact thing Marmoush should be doing on the left with O'Reilly overlapping him on the left.

This will mean Haaland can spare head the attack. Then you have 3 actually midfielders in the middle with some vision and technical skills to get the ball to the 3 forwards or the overlapping backs.

The 2 Center back should only touch the ball to quickly rotate it to one of the 3 CMs whos job it actually is to hold the ball and make decisions.

Can't build the team around him when you're still insisting on building it around KDB and Gundogan.

Agreed.

Look at 0.14 here. Foden just plainly refuses to attack the space that would have him in on goal. Just baffling. It results in a chance but only because of Kev’s brilliance and Echeverri’s movement.

As soon as foden came on I wanted nunes on too. The first play he had when he had fucking akanji overlapping set the tone for a shit show. On the right.

his all round game has been poor for 2-3 seasons now , that's why in a disjointed team like england he looks ordinary . because his goal-scoring ability has improved , people have overlooked other weakness in his game

Really odd. Looks completely disinterested, almost totally out of it and lost out there. Should not go to the CWC, give him the whole summer off and a fresh start next season. He has not lost the ability.
Been saying same for a while. Maybe eveything came too early and too soon. Looks a little out of love with the game

Just an absolute agenda there. He gave the ball to a man in space who was in a better position to play the ball in behind.

You’re proper clutching at straws there. David Silva used to get lauded for his ability to provide the pre assist.

He goes to run in behind then stops. If he’s playing on the wing then he needs to be trying to get in behind his full back at every opportunity.

He should be (as should every other attacker) trying to get into space and attack areas that can cause a goal. Not lurch on the corner of the penalty area playing 5 yard passes.

He’s not alone.

This player looks completely finished. Honestly, no offense, but he can’t even control a simple pass without it bouncing five meters away from him. There’s zero creativity, nothing bold or risky in his game - just another Samir Nasri, a total passenger on the pitch. Horrible today.

He went to go then seen a better option. Surely that’s not a bad thing?!

Look at the opportunity, if Foden goes on the outside then what’s on after that? Fuck all.

If you’re criticising him for that, then it’s purely an agenda. You’re looking for issues that don’t exist.

Foden shouldn’t be on the right wing, if there isn’t an overlap. It’s absolutely pointless.
