I used the underground on Saturday contactless with my bank card, I only used zone1-4 Euston into the centre if London then back out to Wembley I then used the Wembley Central after the game to get back to Euston. I have a charge of £16.60 which I believe is the max for the day travel, but I’ve also got one for £7! Any ideas what this is for, I tapped in and out at every station as well.

If it’s a max charge amount then it’s likely not picked up one of your taps.

You can go on London transport website ,refunds and replacements
Which should be able to tell you how to claim a refund.
Cheers mate it seems my very first journey from Euston to Leicester Square it didn’t register me getting off at Leicester sq I’ve put a claim in

Pretty sure you can get a small number of refunds in case you do forget in occasion to tap out.

Was definitely the case a few years ago and I managed to get some money back.

The maximum fare for one days travel in zones 1-6 is £16.30. So it shouldn’t matter how many times you did or didn’t tap out. It shouldn’t ever be more than that really.

They do say give it 48 hours to all be worked out properly though, so I’d double check on Tuesday that they haven’t corrected any over charge before you start wasting time firing off emails.

I jibbed it there and back, at the time it seemed the most sensible thing to do.
Reading the OP it seems I was right.

More than likely this occurred for the OP.

Do remember on the way back one of the yellow tap machines flashing red for everyone tapping them on one of the Wembley Central station platforms.

There was another machine right opposite which seemed to operate fine flashing green, so I reckon there's quite a few people who have fallen into the same bucket as the OP last weekend.
