They've been buying very well for a few seasons now, for the most part.

Best team in the country right now by a mile. If we don't get it right, we will be miles off them next season.

They've got it all. Good squad, improving with signings. A manager who hit the ground running and took the league by storm after having to follow an icons departure, not easy. Got an absolute fortress of a stadium/fan base, when the Kop get whipped into a frenzy, it's so hard to win there under the Anfield lights.

Even keeping the likes of Mo Salah and VVD is huge.

Over to you Pep and the others, time to show what you're all about because these lot are gonna be even better next season

Ruthless and impressive transfer window already for them, which must be done after winning the league.

The wailing over Tront is a delight. Person serves club for 20 years, decides not to renew his contract and exits. Has a leaving party, posts on social media and all hell breaks loose. How very dare he! How very dare the club! Cultish cunts.

Kerkez looks a really incredible signing if they pull it off. He's got so much quality both on the ball and defensively.

Early days but they're looking to strengthen from a position of strength.

They looked shite last night and Slotts having a pelegrini uplift which will end next season for them and salah is cooked

Not clear Frimpong is a good signing. By all accounts he is as bad a defender as Arnold which takes some doing. Left wingers will be licking their chops.

Liverpool's defensive play at Brighton was abject. Bradley and Konate looked particularly vulnerable.

I think Liverpool have made a major mistake in retaining Salah and Van Dijk. Both have lost basic speed and logically you would expect their game to deteriorate next season. Liverpool do not appear to have replacements for these players.

On the contrary,, a different pov.. they've won the domestic league in the only season when everyone else is poor. In Europe they came up short against a poor RM.
They've bought no one of note last couple of seasons and their main stars have either left or are ageing.
Their new manager hasn't actually managed the club properly, he is using Klopps team and inspiration that City are poor this year.
Their owners lean more towards being leaches rather than investors, they don't like spending so let's see what they spend and how much they back a manager they don't yet know about. It was OK under klopp he had the tools to make up for the lack of investment, we will see with slot.
We are going to be better next year undoubtedly, I think Liverpool are heading for the season we have just had.

I've searched and searched through the media this morning to no avail.
Can't find anything on Salah's miss of the season

They are going to be even stronger next year. They are doing the rebuild in the right way. Sad to say but could learn from them. They have ruthlessly got rid of Henderson, Robertson, Fabinho etc and replaced them all.
Don't agree. As I've said before many times, I don't see them as good as a lot of people seem to think they are. All of us in the Prem have been bloody awful this season, not a shining beacon on a foggy night amongst us: but they have been slightly less poor than the rest of us, but that doesn't say much.
There is no doubt that the whole Coote affair helped them with decisions that they may not have got on another day, so that was a bonus for them. Salah having the swan song that everybody thought he was having - until he decided he wasn't and put pen to paper. And he's looked particularly disinterested since. Vain Dick is not the wonderful towering presence that we are force-fed to believe: to my thinking he's been the weak link for a long time. Just watch how often he is caught out of position, and then how he does a Pickford and screams at every other player in order to try and cover up his own deficiencies.

As this season comes to an end and you look back at who's won what and where, in the Prem the only team I've seen have a marked improvement has been Brighton. I'm impressed by what they've done there. They have a very good team, a great manager and an easy-on-the-eye style. They are where they are on merit and not because of some extremely dodgy refereeing decisions.

last night has shown that this Liverpool team are not a patch on any of Pep's title-winning teams.

The benchmark is City's 100-point season for a club wanting to show they mean business and can go again and again
This Liverpool team turning off after winning the title shows weakness or hunger,

Agree but on the improved teams I’d have Villa plus a good squad and a manager who probably has found his best place to work
I’d say they are more than capable on this seasons evidence of winning the league next year definitely worth a punt if you like a bet

Oddly enough, if they had a better manager I'd say the Tarquins could have a major impact next season. I honestly do not think Lego has the mettle, he's way too delicate to run the show at any Prem club.
But they have a decent collection of players - providing Saka can manage to stay upright for a minute or so, plus they seem to have a fair bit of money to back themselves. Don't get me wrong, I hope they don't, but as I say under better leadership they could have a good season next year.

If you look at the 3 team mini league over past 2 seasons, they are well ahead. We have been woeful (last season as well as this)

Arsenal P8 W3 D5 L0 Pts 14
Scouse P8 W2 D5 L1 Pts 11
City P8 W0 D4 L4 Pts 4

I'm leaning on the side of Frimpong and Kerkez being good signings as it gives them natural pace in the wide areas which they currently lack when getting forward.

However, Frimpong practically plays Salah's position and that's were he's most effective for Leverkusen, high up the pitch. Defensively, he has a lot to learn as he will be expected to work a lot harder in the Prem when going back towards his own goal.

Kerkez has been excellent for Bournemouth, on the surface he looks a good signing and proven in the league, fair play.

Last night they looked poor though. I appreciate they have won the title and rested players, but the likes of Quansah, Elliott, Tsimikas, Nunez and Bradley are bench players at best. I wouldn't have any of them on our bench, they'd be nowhere near starting.

Salah looks to have lost a bit of pace and his decision making was awful last night. I've noticed it a few times this season. Held on to the ball too long at times, didn't play in team mates when they made good runs etc.

Diaz always seems to be in the "leaving" conversation and Konate appears to have a foot out the door by running down his contract. Slot at times has proven he's not the tactical genius he's made out to be as well, it just goes unmentioned.

We've had a stinker of a season, but we'll be better next, no doubt about it. We've a job on our hands, but lets not proclaim the scousers champions next season quite yet.

I wish we'd be as ruthless as them in the transfer market. They seem to identify someone and they get it locked down soon after. We seem to dilly dally and end up missing out on our true no.1 targets which I don't really understand as we have been the best club in Europe for near enough 5 years now. The Pep pull everyone goes on about doesn't seem to be working as good as people think, Haaland aside.

We need a massive window or I can see them making the gap even bigger next season.
