Great send off for Kev, glad so many stayed but still a little gutted he’s leaving.
You lucky fucker. My idols were tiatto and wiekensThat was the absolute end of my adolescence tonight.
De Bruyne was the last one standing from my uni days - the last player still here who joined before I graduated. And there he goes, along the road without us. When Sergio, Vinny, Raheem, Leroy, Zaba, Big Joe, Fern and the rest all said goodbye with their little video messages I did well up a bit. What incredible times we've had.
I've not really loved City players the same since I turned 25. That devotion I felt as a kid, then as a teenager, then as a young adult - the connection isn't quite as unconditional and raw for various reasons now I'm a proper grown-up. De Bruyne was the last one left of my proper youth and now he's gone. I became very, very aware of time tonight.
Vinny and Sergio leaving signaled the absolute end of my childhood - when we signed them I was 14 and 17 respectively. I was 21 when we signed Kevin. It won't be long before a player retires and they're my age, or younger. I'll love City players of the future, but not quite with the same adulation and unbridled joy and excitement as before.
My mum's followed City basically all her life but her favourites have always been the 1968-1976 core. Corrigan, Bell, Lee, Summerbee, Young, Booth, Tueart, them lot. And I'm pretty sure I'll never emotionally move on from Vinny, Sergio, David, Ilkay, Zaba, Big Joe, Raheem, and, of course, Kevin. They'll always be my best.
My first heroes were Weaver, Tiatto, Goater, Benarbia, Berkovic etc. All them Royle/Keegan players. But I only started being able to properly understand football just as Sven turned up. Got very lucky. You lucky fucker. My idols were tiatto and wiekens

We get so much vile abuse as a club & a fan base but when we circle the wagons for a club legend we are a magnificent club with a magnificent supportGreat to see so many stay. I think he was really taken by that.
Especially as there was nothing on the BBC news or the NW Tonight news. Only Trafford mentioned!!sky get a bit of stick on here (sometimes quite rightly) but fair play for the coverage tonight
