Tino Livramento

Will be tough. Spurs had Tripper ready as Walker's replacement. Newcastle have Tripper, but he's likely to leave in the summer so they would need to go out and get a replacement

His quality was obvious at Southampton too, even with the major injury. Same for Lewis Hall leaving Chelsea.

Will cost a fortune but I imagine clubs look at the overall package of a fee and unlike Wirtz, I imagine the wages will be more reasonable.

Newcastle need room in PSR to spend too, so they're going to have to let 1 or 2 go. I imagine Livramento is a better compromise than someone like Isak, Tonali or Guimaraes. He cost £32m 2 years ago, so his current transfer book value to them is £20m, which is probably better too.

Still think it's a very tough deal to get done, their fans wont want to lose their best players and he's one of the 6 I'd have here (Livramento, Hall, Guimaraes, Tonali, Gordon, Isak). Unfortunately for them, the landscape from when we got bought out to when they did has changed drastically and clubs now have to sell to move forward, even we're doing it when an offer is good, i.e. Alvarez.

We signed Walker from Spurs who had a similar pedigree / market value. I reckon Newcastle are more in need of a sale too.

Newcastle fans love him, he's a key member of their squad, they're in the CL and are trying to build on that.

If they have issues they'll find a way other than selling core players.

We all have our own opinions but for me there's zero chance.

There's money to be made from fairy tales and, for me, that's all this is.

Not yet, they're not. Mind you neither are we.

Exactly this. And it’s wildly frustrating because they’ll be spinning their wheels for months only to have two weeks left and find some drab alternate. Really effective use of time and resources.

i expect we know that livramento is a non starter. doubt we waste any time on him.

i suspect we won't find out about our signings until the last moment. noise and fluff pieces keeps us all distracted.

As out and out traditional fullbacks go, I like him. A year ago I'd have said no though, as I'm not convinced how comfortable he is doing anything that isn't straight up and down the line.

Now we seem to be using fullbacks that way again, I'd say yes (as long as it isn't a 6 month fad).
