He will never become the player you thought he would be. I don't know why the fans don't accept the fact(academy bias) He will never reach the level of D.Silva or KDB, so you should not think that he can be the main playmaker and an unquestionable first team player. A good squad player and that's it.

Something like Gundogan was when KDB and Merlin were at their peak. (2016-2020)
That is opinion, not fact. You are speaking of a 24-year-old with 6 league titles and the reigning PL Player of the Year. We didn't sign David until the same age, and we cannot assume that he will fail to make any future progress as a player.

How the fuck would you know?

"A good squad player and that's it."

He was literally the PFA player of the season last year, you weirdo.

He was at Mottram Hall yesterday looking very healthy and happy. Mingling with the public and taking photos. Seems like a top lad.
We all know how good he is.

As seen in the media or first-person account?

A year ‘off’ might be just the ticket for him.

I know there was a big party on last night at his house. I thought it was a concert at delamere forest. His mum must be in the village.

He's been absolutely class since coming into the first team apart from this season and he was literally the league's player of the year just last season.

You talk about players not reaching the level of Silva or De Bruyne - but non of the players we could sign are either. In fact, I'd argue no midfielder in the world is at their level apart from Rodri in terms of overall quality.

I find it genuinely astounding how fast some people are to turn on players. It says a lot about someone's personality - and it ain't something good.

I think you’re being harsh, he’s very poor creatively, but he’s still got great close control and a brilliant shot on him when he’s in form. In a functional team, that controls the game, with top signings, he’ll be brilliant cutting in from the right, something like
DM Rodri
DM Reijnders?
RW Foden
CAM Wirtz?
LW Rodrygo?
CF Haaland

lol

I think it is a good thing. Two pointless games and he could do with a break for his mental health. He's got to sort out his head first and foremost. If he returns to the form of last season he gets back in without a problem.
It is not good for a player in his prime who needs minutes on the pitch to feel the need to ask to not to be picked because he knew he was not going to be selected. The lad seems to be in a mess.

I said previously that the abuse he got at the swamp about his mother really got to him and I was shot down on these pages.

I’ll say it again it did.
