Florian Wirtz

Agree.
Time will tell if Viana will be a success here but most (not all) of what I'm reading about our potential business is very unconvincing.
As a result I will assume Viana is out of his depth until the opposite has been proven.
He has certainly made a really bad first impression.
#VianaOut
Pep and Viana are absolutely certain to have a fall out. Peps trusted man is gone. Txixi brought Pep here. The new man has his own ideas.

No one is then since he has the highest creating rate in Europe
There is a lot to take into account when evaluating a player. His talent level, his character, how he fits our system, whether he can make the jump to the PL. The Club has more information on all of that then we have in front of us.

Hmm I wonder who I would back if that happens, the best manager in the world and the clubs history, a serial winner breaking multiple records in multiple countries across top leagues in Europe, or the guy who managed to finish 1st one time in a 3 club league and no track record of success at top level?

Really tough decision this..

The club sat on its laurels basking in its glory and took its eye off the ball! I genuinely besides their name and us having an off season can’t see any reason why he would pick them over us?!
Probably for the same reason Van Dijk did. As much as we hate the scouse cunts, they are still one of the top 5 or 6 clubs in world football. You are right though about resting on our laurels after the treble. If Liverpool sign Wirtz, frimpong and Kerkez then that's how you put the boot on the throat of your rivals from a position of power. Just hope we can get the lad from AC Milan as he looks a player and hope we have a couple more aces up our sleeve. My only worry is us shifting some of our players.

His talent level? Everyone knows how talented that guy is. Is there something on the offensive side he can’t do? Either left foot or right foot he can do it all.
Character. The club can’t know shit since he plays for Lyon and not City. No one here knows him personally. The negative stuff which is used here happened when the guy was 17(!) year old.
„ how he fits our system“ that’s the problem. We going to leave a top player because he can’t do whatever we are expecting but MGW can. We draw the line at MGW but Cherki wouldn’t fit it…

I don’t mind him going to another club and tearing the league apart. Despite talents like Doue - Cherki is the current biggest name in the league. Even when Lyon played vs PSG. Cherki was clear of everyone else on the pitch.

People are crying for creative players but apparently they ain’t even good enough even when they are CLEAR of everyone else in the same category we are crying for.
There are no alternatives for Cherki and Simons. If it’s not Wirtz this 2 are the only replacements.

Or it could be MGW, Reijnders, Livramento and Kerkez for £225m?

MGW probably comes in on a third of the wages though, making the total package half the cost of Wirtz, leaving space for another player.

MGW in a harder league on a worse team has 7 goals and 10 assists in 33 league games.
Wirtz in an easier league for a better team has 10 goals and 13 assists in 31 league games.

So you're not even getting close to double the output either.

I'm not saying MGW is the answer either, not completely convinced but I trust the clubs financial judgement, they've hit more times than they've missed on transfers.
Having money left over for another decent player is pointless with Pep because he likes a small squad which needs to be full of quality.

If we are being very numbers based in the league Gibbs White has 47 g/a in 153 games. Wirtz has 82 g/a in 140 games. Much closer to double now.

Nobody at the start of the season would have wanted Gibbs White. If you don't buy quality you end up buying twice. Maybe 3 times if you take Phillips and Nunes into consideration.

Title done already for next season if they get them 3 mate

Its not about who you back mate its about who the board backs. The man gone in 2 years? Or the new man whos here to build for future

Trouble is, 2 of them weren’t interested in joining City. Same is likely true of Wirtz and, whether anyone likes it or not, there is bugger all you can do about that.
And that's completely fine. The point I'm making is there seems to be no middle ground. If we go from Bellingham/Rice to Paqueta/Nunes.

How much quality are we going to sacrifice not landing Wirtz? If we settle on Gibbs White I'd say it's similar to the above.
