Tino Livramento

Players and managers at the top level adapt all the time. If we are looking at him we are confident he’ll do a job here
If they did we would be linked to certain other players with „ a bad personality“

Personality and ability is different though don’t you think?

When it comes to off the field the club has had some disaster press in recent years bearing in mind we are fighting the 115.

If we are just talking about ability how many players have come in, under Pep, and taken a huge leap. So many players people wrote off we wouldn’t have won the lot with.

Liked him ever since he played against us for Southampton, but assumed he'd go back to Chelsea. Glad he didn't, Newcastle has been good for him and he's clearly grown, and getting over a nasty injury without apparent issues. Also ticks the homegrown box and has pace.

If we're haggling over £10m for a player likely to be a England regular for a decade then I'd be disappointed, but we all know city have limits and will not be pushed. Usually works out well for us.

Pep is a big draw, this again could be the last chance for players to come, bed in and then profit from his knowledge. It's a big draw for most players, and although Newcastle have done well I think most people would put more money on us winning the league next before them. Although that said, being part of their first squad to achieve it would be pretty special for him too.

Were not signing him ffs,why would they even consider selling him ffs. Why is there even a thread for this
Newcastle don’t need to sell him, they won’t want to sell him, and if they get CL football he doesn’t need to leave them… weird to be linked with him.

Players are fickle creatures, if they look around and see our current state and then look at their own current situation I doubt they'd look at coming to us from established prem clubs, it seems the tide has changed in regards to tactics and the fast powerful teams are coming back and the tiki taka types will be left behind currently were the latter. Livramento will look at Newcastle then us and IMHO would decide to stay, the draw of 12 months with Pep then a new manager who might not fancy you is something they do consider.

Gets injured quite a bit but he’s a wonderful player, we should have nabbed him from Southampton at the time.

Whether a club needs or wants to sell a player isn’t going to stop a player leaving a club.

Newcastle are progressing but they’re still years behind City in terms of consistently challenging/winning major trophies.

Newcastle have no reason to sell, he's contracted until 2028 - why on earth is he the top player on our list?

Depends on your tactics. If you want your fullbacks to be offensive I.e Liverpool under Klopp they need to be top class. Look at Dumfries for inter. He their worst player? Arsenal invincible had great fullbacks. Why is it an easy position to play? You have to be switched on to offense and defensive side of the game. A CB doesn’t do a lot offensively bar set pieces.
I agree It depends bon your tactics. But i disagree with your conclusions. If you want fulll scks to be offensive, you get someone like Trent who cant defend for shit (and is truly a midfielder) and your team is better for it. Same with his supposed replacement. Can you imagine a ball playing CB as shit as Trent was defensively actually still working?

Dumfries i consider a real fullback. And while he and his team have had a great Champions league run, he is just a good player. Average ball control, average technique, average crosser, average dribbler, above average defender and above average athleticism. Play him at sny other position and he is likely an average player.

Its hard to pinpoint the idea im trying to express. Perhaps its not even a legitimate idea. I personally found, full back to be the easiest position to play growing up. And when i coached youth football, it was the one position i could hide my weakest players to create the least damage.

It's also the position you could bring a young player into and find success. Lewis Skelly and O'Reilly being obvious examples of late.

Lewis-Skelly and O’Reilly are very very good players. They’re not at full back because they’re not good. I’m not sure it is a legitimate idea if I’m honest. Coaching youth football I feel differs wildly from the professional game. TAA isn’t as good a defender as he is going forward agreed but he’s still above average and technically a very good player. All about opinions but I personally don’t think fullback is an easy position.

His current manager has been recently hospitalised.
Shit flies in all directions in football. You just don't know what's round the corner.
80% of a footballers decision is money.
The next 19% is partner and family (if applicable).
