Be astonished if he doesn't get close to a 15-20 stretch for that.

It's worldwide news. Court and jury will go hard.

People don't usually start filming before an incident, so it's likely that something had already triggered the crowd to be angry.
A reporter who was there is saying that he had reversed and hit someone so the anger was due to that probably and then it just escalated. I still can’t understand why he swerved into a crowd though.

Liverpool parades are different to the Manchester club ones arent they? like they travel for miles and miles from the outskirts as i recall they did in…..2022 when they won the cups. whereas city and united just pootle around the city centre or to the ground

Everyone along the route who is a Liverpool fan hangs flags, banners, scarfs, bunting out of their windows. The parade always ends on the Strand. Most of the suburb route is lined with a few people either side of the road. As the parade gets closer to the city centre the crowds start to increase in numbers.

My guess is he was at the parade, parked there this morning then went back to his car, ended up in a street full of Liverpool fans where he shouldn't have been, some of them started to punch and kick his car, and he's just lost the head.

Just seen it on the news it looks like people try and get at the car he speeds away then slows down, there are people still around the car as he veers off into the crowd, he wasn't going anywhere near as quick as I thought from earlier posts. He could well have veered into the crowd as he didn't have his hands on the steering wheel maybe trying to keep his doors from being opened.

If it isn’t terrorise related, he’s barrister will plead he panicked, he was afraid for his life, and he was trying to get away.

I don't think your team has to worry about that anytime soon ;) but seriously why let the cunts stop what has been a staple of British football tradition since footy began.

Hah, true that.
Well that’s a good point but times change, just thinking they could hold it in the stadium , make it a real spectacle, have ex players etc do a few chats, live band, players walking around with a trophy and prioritise schools from the local area to be able to attend for example. This could be funded by the club and save millions in security arrangements from taxpayers.

That’s looking more likely so far.

That’s all good and well, but 250,000 City fans wanted to see the team parade the treble. The Etihad only holds 50,000+.

Heaton Park would be an ideal place to hold an event. Close it off to traffic, put security barriers up, ticket only, and enough space for 250,000 fans. But you would still have the problem of fans going to and from Heaton Park safely. And tbh, I wouldn’t be arsed traipsing up to Heaton Park from Burnage and back.

Seen a video of the driver having his rear window smashed and wipers ripped off. Other people thumping his window. This before he accelerated off.

Once again im not so sure those cheeky scouse scamps are totally innocent in all this

Just a fucked up situation
I have been sent that too. The media will never report on that footage...
Maybe the Sun will though. What else have they got to loose in regards to liverpool fans

Don't know mate although at a parade plenty will have their phones in hand taking pictures or videos. My guess would be he's trying to get out and hit someone and the crowd has reacted or they have given him grief for just being there. Once they start attacking the car its not a surprise panic has set in.

The 2 soldiers at the IRA funeral in 1988 was the worse thing I'd witnessed on the BBC news in all my life.
Like you today's events took me back
I will never ever forget that. It was the day I brought my first born son home from hospital.
Watching it play out from the police helicopter was horrific and soon after the priest giving them their last rights.
Haunt me till I go to my grave.

He reversed into someone who was trying to smash his rear window

They smashed his wiper off and punched the back window, I don’t think it was smashed at that time, he then drove forward. It looked like there was another car infront of his car at that point.it’s hard to make out.
