Incident at Liverpool Title Parade May 26th

The videos clearly show that the car was being punched and kicked before anyone was hit & he was sounding his horn to alert people he was coming through.

However...that in no way justifies the driver accelerating into a crowd of innocent people at speed. Even when a clear path opens up, he appears to steer away from it and towards the crowd instead.

He may have felt threatened, scared or whatever but nothing excuses that in my opinion. He will have some sort of a defence in court but I imagine it won't hold up.

Let's just pray for no fatalities.
probably best not to speculate

I’m probably wrong but the photo of the 53 year old man is bald. The left video looks like shoulder length mousy hair possibly female ?
From the glimpse you get if the driver he doesn’t look 53. Perhaps the bloke they’ve arrested was involved in the violence but not the driver

Absolute horrific incident and we can all hope that injuries are not life threatening/changing.

I’ve no idea how this occurred but can’t understand the difference in reporting. I’m late to see this as had family ‘round but Sky are saying ‘53 year old man’ whereas BBC are saying ‘53 year old white, British man’.

Is the BBC statement true, and, if so, why are Sky leaving their statement so open to interpretation?

Look at the videos of him driving
He’s clearly white

Sky were the first to say 50 odd year white man

Surprised you’ve not done the most basic of research before posting.

Merseyside Police's Assistant Chief Constable Jenny Sims sits down and starts the news conference by saying her thoughts are with all those who are injured in tonight's "horrific" event.

She thanks the public who came to the assistance of those who were hurt.
And fails to offer her resignation for her forces abject failure of closing the fucking roads properly in the first place.

deliberate pared reporting last time (Southport) led to dangerous conjecture and mob rule... you can believe the authorities actually learned a lesson from that, or that they purposefully kept it from the public domain last time
