Agree with all of the list except Nunes and Bernardo.

Bernardo is Bernardo.. he's no winger but I'm convinced he can do a job in midfield most days.

We spent 60 odd mil on Cancelo who provided a grand total of 22 assists over 4 seasons. We spent 50 odd mil on Mendy who provided a grand total of 9 assists over 5 seasons.

Nunes has provided 14 G+A this season alone even while playing out of position. Nunes has also shown us what an overlapping full back can give us. And do you see a better option for us out there?

If we're actually stupid enough to sign people like Mendy, Cancelo and Kalvin Phillips for 50+ mil but let someone like Cole Palmer and Nunes go.. View attachment 157973

I dont think we will sign all 4 midfielders; more likely 3. We move Ederson, Walker, KDB, Grealish and then Gundogan at end of next season. Then Stones, Ake, Philips and Alvarez getting replaced by Khusanov, Reiss, Nico and Marmoush.

That's 9 in, 9 out over course of 1.5 years. Plus Bobb, Rico, O'Reilly in from the academy.

Every time they panned to the bench, Lillo had a face like a slapped arse and was whinging to Pep. FWIW, while we had a poor ish season (compared to others) we were only 3 points behind Arsenal and dropped 16 points from winning positions. While we possibly wouldn’t have won all the games, we would have won a fair few in a “normal” season. That would have put us 2 points above the dippers.

As far as the team goes, once Rodri got injured, it certainly affected our defence (along with other injuries) and you could see that as the season went on, Pep became paranoid about losing the ball. From being attacking wingers, Doku and Savinho started playing possession football where they weren’t overly encouraged to get by their man. Allied to the lack of midfielders moving forward they have ended up playing backwards far more than forwards.

The main position we need to address immediately (again IMHO) is left back. The number of chances/assists/goals coming from our left has been unbelievable. You only have to look at last season’s FA Cup Final when Garnacho had the freedom of London to maraud down that side. This season we have used Gvardiol, Lewis and O’Neill but have still not stopped the chances coming. You could say that Doku could track back but when we lose the ball, he is too far up the field (along with Gvardiol) to react.
