Delap wouldn't improve us at all and we wouldn't be talking about him if he'd not been at City. He won't improve Chelsea either I don't think and won't improve United.

If he goes to United he will end up like Hojlund, Garnacho, Antony, Maguire etc - badly coached in a team that has no idea how it plays. The club is a mess - we could send them peak Kompany, Kdb, Silva, Aguero etc and they would look awful.

He obviously is very ambitious, but he might be better almost waiting to see if the likes of Wissa, Mbuemo etc move on from Brentford and going there. It's not a glamourous club, but they have a habit of turning players into superb players. If he ends up at a big club now, his career will tank.

He only solves our homegrown/club trained quota and may be a back up to haaland which we may need. But we already have marmoush and possibly Rodrigo.

Chelsea would be a good move for him

Do you not think Chelsea should aim higher though?

With Gyokeres, Osimhen potentially being on the market. Delap seems like yet another player that is still developing. We have a lot of those 'need time and patience' players.

HG striker. Potential future #1 of the national team. It makes sense going for him

Think we've had this conversation before, and I respect your view as it's your club.
This seems to be the way Chelsea are going to do business these days. You'll look for younger talent - hoping that at some point down the road it'll click into place
As for Delap developing - he's not far off, and I'd say he would be better than Jackson for you.
Next season is going to be a proper test for Maresca as there can't be 2 squads competing, one midweek one at the weekend so tough calls to be made
Oh congratulations on the win last night

Apparently they want 2.

Gyokores and Ekitike are being considered for the other striker according to a ‘ITK’ I follow on Twitter that like our own in Tolm is pretty spot on with what he says about Chelsea.

I see the pros of getting him, and I do like him as a player. I had just hoped we would add some much needed experience to the squad, and going someone ready made like Osimhen would have been perfect as he strikes 2 birds with 1 stone - we get experience at the top level and a top striker.

Delap is more of a wait and see how he develops, and also how he handles playing for a big club. Jackson was a 'wait and see if he develops' signing 2 years ago and he's been decent, showed flashes of what he could potentially become, but he's still not the guy we can rely on for a consistent source of goals. Delap feels like another signing like that. There's every chance he only hits 10 goals next season and the message will rightly be, he needs time, he's young and inexperienced, and that's precisely why I think he isn't the striker we need.

Then we would have to sell Jackson or move him to LW where he's also pretty good. I would accept that if it's Gyokeres, but I would have the same reservations about Ekitike that I have about Delap.
