As long as you’re only harming yourself…….Why? You clearly enjoy a drink so just embrace it, life's too short mate...

Same here, makes me feel like shit these days.I don't mind alcohol. but I can take or leave it.
It would not bother me if I never had another drop.
Same. Just veered away from my usual Tyskie and opted for an old school Red Stripe, my lager of choice back in the 90s.I'm having a pint now after finishing work. See some friends and have a chat for a couple of hours. Maybe a game of pool.
Stops me going mad.
Come on, a man with your impressive vocabulary can come up with more than that. ;-)Still love the stuff!

Holts gold for me.Same. Just veered away from my usual Tyskie and opted for an old school Red Stripe, my lager of choice back in the 90s.
The problem with me is it will switch to red wine later.
Got my now half-yearly bloods next Friday. The results will determine the next 6 months after that. Until then though, cheers!
Not on a FridayCome on, a man with your impressive vocabulary can come up with more than that. ;-)
You’re my wife and I claim my £5…Not on a Friday
Are you aware of alcoholism and it impact on an individuals life and those around them?, would that be a good reason?Just necking the perfect old fashioned and I'm struggling to think of a good reason why someone would decide to give it up.

Absolutely nothing good comes from having a drink imoJust necking the perfect old fashioned and I'm struggling to think of a good reason why someone would decide to give it up.
You obviously can’t drink given your role in the Secret Services.Absolutely nothing good comes from having a drink imo
I know people say "Ah it's nice to have drink at the end of a working week". I don't understand it, Surely it's all mentally.
I'm having a cuppa watching Netflix, Might go all out and have a few rich tea :-)
Why would you think your own lived experience and perspective applies to everyone else?Absolutely nothing good comes from having a drink imo

Let's get one thing straight, None of my post suggests that what I do applies to everyone else...Why would you think your own lived experience and perspective applies to everyone else?
Do you also think that everyone should like rich tea, because I don’t. I think they are fucking bland. Netflix has some serious shite on too.
Some of the best times of my life have been spent drinking. It doesn’t mean I have to drink to have a good time, but I’d be lying if I tried to play down the amazing days and nights I’ve had where drinking has been central to the experience. My drinking hasn’t prevented me making great strides in my life in recent years and it genuinely makes me into a nicer person. I like who I am when I’ve had a drink, and in the main people like me when I’ve had one.
I realise that everyone’s experience won’t be like mine. I know alcohol destroys lives, turns some people into absolute cunts, causes people to spend money on it that they can’t afford and makes the people they love and care about deeply unhappy. It can be as destructive to people’s lives as any other drug. Some people are unquestionably better off without it in their lives.
And I would never tell someone to have a drink, just because I don’t experience what they do from drinking. I understand, that for many, drinking ultimately makes them unhappy, and why do something that makes you unhappy when you are paying for the experience and choosing to do it? That ultimately doesn’t make sense.
But for some, plenty of good comes from having a drink. Everybody’s different. It’s not healthy assuming your perspective on the world on any subject is the only worthwhile one; and it’s also completely unrealistic.
