I'm an foc ( female) and I remember that year so well. It was one of the blinking best in my life for many reasons. I can't believe it is almost 50 years ago. Like how the hell did I get so well old in age,yet still think I'm the same age as I was that year!!

I remember staying at a new hotel in Sittingbourne, Kent for a few nights when attending a management meeting with my company in 1989. The reception area had a plaque on the wall saying 'This hotel was opened by Doris Stokes..' One of our team waggishly taped a piece of paper to the plaque adding '..from 'The Other Side', as it was built a year after she died'.. (you had to be there, I suppose..)
