PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

If they don't know already, it's still an educated assumption. Our legal team are the best in the business and will be able to make a qualified assessment of our defence. If this is the witch hunt it appears to be, and the evidence is a regurgitation of the UEFA case, then that enables them to be even more confident in their assessment. Those in the room have seen the evidence for and against us, have heard the questions and picked up on the tone or the raised eyebrows or the wording used during the hearing. If this is the black and white case it largely appears to be, they'll have been able to provide City with the comfort needed.

I don't believe we'd invest if we hadn't been given the comfort we needed following the hearing. We're not interested in what the media or twitter say. There's a football club to run and business to be done. We wouldn't jeopardise our future if there was uncertainty as to the result of the case. Khaldoon doesn't seem concerned at all, and he's far too wise to carry out business as usual without contemplated, educated assurances from the lawyers.

And it's not beyond the realms of possibility he in fact does already know the outcome. And again, he's wise enough to see the bigger picture and work with the PL to keep things quiet until the time suits. That might help us have a better environment to work in moving forwards. The club won't want to keep fighting the PL in court the way it is at the moment.
An educated assumption is still just an assumption, not a fact. The club and our lawyers may have good reason to be confident but there is a huge difference between believing and knowing what the verdict will be.

And there is obviously some uncertainty to what the result will be before we actually have a result. That Khaldoon doesn't seem concerned at all means little to nothing in my opinion, whats his alternative? Regardless of how he feels he has no option but to portray himself as anything but confident. I dont think he must be very concerned, I'm just saying that even if he was he is far too experienced and wise to show it.

Just as you argue the club wouldn't carry out business as usual without "contemplated, educated assurances from lawyers" of a positivt outcome, another one could argue the club should carry out business as usual unless they have "contemplated, educated assurances from lawyers" about a negative one.
If we talk about bigger picture, its probably not in the best interest of someone thats making trillion dollar deals in the White House to act like if you are expecting to be found guilty in a case regarding multi hundred million fraud before there is a verdict.

With that said, the club may have good reason to be confident about a positive outcome, I'm not arguing anything else. All I'm saying is that I dont believe the club spending money on players necessarily means they already KNOW the verdict. The only thing that is certain is that we dont know what the verdict is. Its possible the club knows, but thats just pure speculation without any real evidence thats the case.

Do you agree that although they don't KNOW, they'll have a general feeling which way its gone, and it all seems rather positive?

There’s no feeling beyond whatever the lawyers said after the commission ended. But the length of time it’s taken to deliver a judgement just reinforces how complicated it is. Personally I trust Khaldoon and the board so my personal opinion is that the most serious charges won’t be proven. But that’s just me guessing.

I may be wrong on this but I thought publication had to be agreed by all parties.

The club leaked the APT award when they were fed up with the PL dragging their feet, I think, no? Although this is a Section W not a section X, and the rules on publication are a little different, I imagine the same would happen?

Hard to imagine the club keeping quiet if there wasn't anything substantial in it for them?

I think the club told the PL they were going to release the APT verdict unless the PL did it by a specific time/date

When and if a positive verdict is delivered to City it’ll be public soon as the redactions are done for about a hundred different reasons. Whoever has spun that yarn to PB is having a laugh.

How can you be so sure that this is categorically not true ?

Nobody can be sure that anything is categorically true or not, no matter what they say. Including @Prestwich_Blue and @BillyShears. All they can do is tell us what they have heard. And neither will tell us who their source is. So it's up to each of us to weigh it all and make our own minds up.
