PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Nobody can be sure that anything is categorically true or not, no matter what they say. Including @Prestwich_Blue and @BillyShears. All they can do is tell us what they have heard. And neither will tell us who their source is. So it's up to each of us to weigh it all and make our own minds up.

I’ve said this before so not sure why it’s so controversial. When the club have the verdict it’ll be made public. The end. The mental gymnastics people are doing to convince themselves one has been delivered is a bit sad.

This isn’t the APT case it’s a PL commission. And the most high profile one in the history of the league. Laughable to even suggest they could deliver a verdict in secret.

my two pennorth...for what it's worth...
the recent signings are for me a key indicator...no one (agent wise) would enter into negotiations about moving to City without tableing the killer question...whwre are we with the PL charges?...Our guys would have to respond to get the deal done...should it all go the other way, we are wide open to misrepresentation charges ( poss criminal) in pursuit of a contract...which presumably would then be null and void....

For my money we are either fully clear, or fully busted...there will be no middle ground fudge.

The most serious charges were allegations of fraud based around out-of-context emails

Surely, Khaldoon would have known from the first day whether there was anything substantial behind those allegations

And even if there were, which is very unlikely, the PL wouldn't be able to prove it to the standard required.

Everyone should relax about the most serious accusations. Unless the people running the club are completely incompetent, and they aren't, the only question is whether any of the less serious charges stick.

I still trust Khaldoon when he says no over anybody else.

I think PB will have posted in good faith mate bit of OTT reply.
Indeed, mate. I've spoken to Colin several times at games and he definitely isn't a bullshitter. Not discussed the charges much although I've asked a few questions. I don't get involved with this thread as I'm a bit of a thicko when it comes to legal matters and proceedings. I'll wait for the outcome and still be a blue either way like you will and thousands of others.

What's the difference between 'have an idea' and 'know'? To me knowing is simply having enough good reasons to believe something is true. The proposition 'we have won' is totally falsifiable but the evidence seems invincible.
I have an idea that you are wrong. I only know you are wrong once I can prove it. Knowing a fact is a certainty. Having an idea is an informed opinion at best.

Exactly what I think too. At the scouse trophy lift although Masters was alongside Hansen who handed it over, the cameraman definitely moved the angle at that moment so he’s out-of-shot. He tried to put on a smiley (“business as usual”) brave face, as people do who’ve been told privately they’ve got the chop. There were people on here saying headhunters had appointed, as I recall - some months ago. Masters is a walking disaster.
They could have easily just not had him involved like they did for our trophy lift the year before.

Whilst I agree with most of what you said, I'm 100% convinced your final line is 100% wrong :)

All I can say is that my understanding is that Big K definitely knows the outcome (as does Masters and the PL board) but the two parties have agreed to delay the formal publication of the outcome at the PL's request, who will not come out of this well.

This bit is pure speculation on my part but my hypothesis is that they need time to quietly headhunt a new CEO.
I really hope you are correct but when you say “my understanding” As SKY frequently use…I’m wondering what you mean. The implication is that someone has told you that Khaldoon knows the outcome. While I would never ask who this is are you saying that this is the case and you believe that person to be reliable?

It’s confusing because, although I respect your input, we have Stefan saying do not trust anyone saying they know the outcome because even City do not..they just have an idea and a very strong case can go against you 30% of the time.

Think most of us are so desperate to hear any snippet of news and to be exonerated ,after the red cartels hatchet job ( with the help of their media friends )have labelled us as cheats for so long , the constant headlines suggesting sanctions such as being thrown out of the league , stripped of all our achievements were just what they wanted everyone to believe , when all this is over I really hope the club come out fighting and start legal action against the cunts

I don't think anyone said it was controversial, it makes the most sense. Doesn't mean it's categorically correct, though.

As it happens, I think the PL is required by the rules to update the June meeting on the progress of all Section W cases, so we may find out soon via a leak what the PL says their position is. Or not :)

The guy is a fantasist. The club have absolutely no idea how it has gone.

I wish people would stop posting this WUM here
I know Billy was sure of his facts 4-5 weeks ago when he said City didn’t know, but surely things may have changed since then.

True but they sent Britton instead. If he wasn’t invited or if they sent Britton again it would raise huge questions. I think he’s a dead man walking but time will tell.

for me there are far to many plus points to be guilty of anything, if we were about to get hammered by the PL i coulnt see peps number 1 coming in then the stadiums new build, the players we signed in the Jan window and the players linked in this window, every indication says we are good to go and normal service continues, i think the club has known for sometime were OK not officially but through the legal representatives, at some point after the hearing city would have been fully briefed on the possible outcomes, for me i'd say this was around the time Halland signed his long contract and it was released to rub salt into the PLs wounds

Not. :)

I know it’s frustrating but it is what it is.
