PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

In my experience of civil trials like this, the best way to look at a 12 week "trial" is that at the start both sides think they can win.

By the end of a 12 week trial, sometimes (but not always), one side thinks they probably lost.

Fair points.

But, when the report finally comes out, I would be very interested to know how the PL thought they could win on the most serious allegations at the start of the hearing.

Unless we are missing a large piece of very clear evidence, I just can't see it.

Banter mate:) She’s just done it this morning:) ha
Yeah, it can get like that on here and I’ve had some dealings with PB on here, I would say, we were both as bad as each other. But he does have some good views on here and Twitter. Let me know where you meet up, always up for a beer. Thing is, face to face is always better, messaging can be misconstrued at times.
No problem pal Last 2 meet ups were in the Waldorf, the one before at the Rain Bar. They wasn't well attended unlike some previous meet ups. The last 3 were put on Off Topic though and although it's a popular section it wasn't read like it would be on the main thread page If I do organise the next on I'll try n' get the permission off @Ric to put a sticky on the main page.

I've met some really good blues off here and several have since become mates. Quite a few have said I'm very similar on here to in the flesh. But on here posters can't see I'm a big ugly **** up for laugh online and in the real world. And yes, messages can be misconstrued but having been on here over 15 years most know when I'm being serious or joking ; )

Fucking JCL.

I know it was that **** Pinto who hacked our Emails, and no doubt he was probably put up to it nod wink, but what fucking security were City using, they’ve admitted the Emails are kosher just massively out of context…..
What fucking Email server were they using, obviously didn’t have end to end encryption…..or does it not matter,is it a case nothing is UNHACKABLE.
Remember Pauli from Goodfellas…he NEVER used the phone, just had people passing messages by word of mouth from family members,so nothing recorded,me and my brother been city fans since 1977,the thing re ALWAYS agree on……if city had never sent them Emails we’d be as happy as pigs in shit.

An educated assumption is still just an assumption, not a fact. The club and our lawyers may have good reason to be confident but there is a huge difference between believing and knowing what the verdict will be.

And there is obviously some uncertainty to what the result will be before we actually have a result. That Khaldoon doesn't seem concerned at all means little to nothing in my opinion, whats his alternative? Regardless of how he feels he has no option but to portray himself as anything but confident. I dont think he must be very concerned, I'm just saying that even if he was he is far too experienced and wise to show it.

Just as you argue the club wouldn't carry out business as usual without "contemplated, educated assurances from lawyers" of a positivt outcome, another one could argue the club should carry out business as usual unless they have "contemplated, educated assurances from lawyers" about a negative one.
If we talk about bigger picture, its probably not in the best interest of someone thats making trillion dollar deals in the White House to act like if you are expecting to be found guilty in a case regarding multi hundred million fraud before there is a verdict.

With that said, the club may have good reason to be confident about a positive outcome, I'm not arguing anything else. All I'm saying is that I dont believe the club spending money on players necessarily means they already KNOW the verdict. The only thing that is certain is that we dont know what the verdict is. Its possible the club knows, but thats just pure speculation without any real evidence thats the case.

There is a clear difference between an educated assumption and just an assumption. I've walked out of hearings or public inquiries feeling very confident, assuming it went well and had a lawyer piss on my chips with a more negative take. They tend to be that way inclined naturally, to manage expectations. The confidence with which City have talked is exactly what you'd expect, regardless of what the lawyers have assessed as the outcome. But I wouldn't expect any business to carry on spending just to keep up appearances, that would be ridiculous.

Well they had long enough to find a way to win spending years before they actually charged us then a further 18 months sharpening their weapons.

You can be a great bloke and still set up different accounts though mate. Tell PB and his Multiple Personality friends I said all the best:)
yeah but he hasn't has he, and the earth isn't flat, and the moon landing happened and sun cream doesn't cause skin cancer

Notice how the Cyprus Chelsea document dump that showed Abramovich was paying large sums to agents as sweeteners to push through deals,Hazard being one of the transfers….has gone very quiet, and in the midst of the quiet, zero stories from the usual msm suspects…pushing the Narrative WHAT ABOUT CHELSEA,compare that to the literally 100s of opinion pieces and articles screaming 115 when when when from the mediacunts since these charges were brought.

Pinto sent an email that looked like it came from UEFA with an attachment that contained malicious code. Someone (and I've been told who but won't embarrass them) opened it and the damage was done.

What, no smoking gun?
That's the point, if no evidence both sides are now aware of this leaving a reliance on non cooperation as the PL main thrust.

If evidence produced by PL that incriminates City etc then it would justify the PL accusations.

My simple mind cannot see it being that complicated other than learning how to type this into 130 plus charges and the Panels legal decisions being pedantically written up.

Didn’t know that, thanks PB…….whoever it was, what in gods name were they thinking sigh……one wrong click of the mouse and………………….

I suppose there’s a lesson in this for all of us

I only asked my question this afternoon @BillyShears because the above quote was your stance in March, so presumably you’re more apprehensive now (which is absolutely fine and understandable).

There was no offence intended earlier.

None taken either mate. In March my deal wasn’t signed. It is now and it changes everything for me in terms of my relationship with the club.

Pretty sure that in 2018 it was possible to scan attachments to ensure they were harmless before they were made available? Or did I misremember that?
