Such an awful attitude, truly awful

Did you say the same when Rodri publicly expressed the same concerns?

I didn't think you did.

Akanji is absolutely spot on. Khaldoon only cares about the money, and Pep agrees with his paymasters.

CWC is a joke competition, just like its predecessor. Football is dead.

I don't like Akanji as a player and would like to cash in, also found myself thinking exactly what Bernie was saying about some players, then thought again, maybe he is the player what is standing up for his teammates.

Pep should tell him to go and have a holiday. I know he played with an injury, but for me, he shouldn't have because he was scared of putting the effort in! He had his operation, then had what was it, six weeks’ rest! So him not having that hunger to play now tells me he will be better not going to the club World Cup.
Leave him at home. Play Khusanov, Dias, Gvardiol, Stones, Ake, Reis
Mard arsed twat… always front and centre of every fuck up

I do wish folk would actually post the comments he's made on here, instead of me having to take five seconds put of MY day to Google what he's said FFS
Manuel Akanji on the Club World Cup: “I have been a strong critic of this competition for some time now. We players would love to have some holidays, and some time for our bodies to rest.

My #ManCity teammates are not exactly overjoyed about the tournament either. But it's now right in our faces, and there is nothing we can do about it.

If we take part, then of course we want to win it. But if we reach the final, then the time period for us to recover ahead of the new season will become even shorter…”

Wish I could get millions and complain. Another reason why we need a big squad.

If only there was a competition we could play in to make a load of money so we could buy more players for our squad.

Just seen him moaning about the Club World Cup, first player I’ve seen doing it. He missed a lot of the season through injury the lazy fucker.
Players have to work just as hard when they’re recuperating from injures.

Not quite sure how being injured is equivalent to having a holiday.

He probably would have been wiser to not make these comments, but players are getting fatigue injuries more frequently now and the timing of this competition means all the players of the teams involved will not get much of a break this year.

Honestly he's right. It's about time players stood up to this. Akanji's been fucked by injuries these last six months so no wonder he's already knackered at the prospect of another pointless round of games.
Do they still get paid when in between seasons ?

That doesn't really matter though, does it? Their bodies are their livelihood and their careers are short. I wouldn't be too enthused to play in what is a glorified friendly preseason tournament just for some assholes at FIFA or whatever other organization to get paid much more in comparison. Tickets aren't even being sold that well so it seems there isn't much of an appetite for it from a spectators' perspective.

Mid-season World Cup three seasons ago, a Euros/Copa America last summer and now this with a World Cup next summer is just too much. It's nice as a fan, but I sympathize with the players who are being run into the ground.

The chairman didn’t have to play for months through injury or have surgery this season though, did he?

We all had a big “I told you so” about the amount of football being played when Rodri went down, but we’re gonna crucify Akanji for it?
Yes he should play both friendly games for Switzerland over the next 5 days & then miss CWC to catch up on his rest

So is mine and I have to work all year . End of the day they get paid a lot of money to do his so he needs to get on with it and if he is pissed off the hen he should keep it ti himself instead of doing a Kyle Walker .
