We've had this lad elevated to messi like status, compared to merlin, had Madrid going in after him, drooling at his cameo the other night, fretting we aren't paying enough, fretting we're paying too much, can't wait to see him, PSG are going to hijack the deal and now hes lazy.

I despair I really do.

Why would the club send representatives to Germany? We need to negotiate with Lyon, not the player. And there's no way we would arrange a medical in Germany either, because he has to fly to Manchester after the match anyway.

I don’t remember watching Nunes running up and down the pitch for Wolves. He does that game in game out now. That’s training, cardio and discipline. I’d be more worried if he looked like a cart horse on the ball.

I'm not saying that Pep won't be able to coach Cherki into being a better defensive player and to reduce/stop his showboating... I am saying that those are legitimate areas of concern.

Agree - some pundits think that the defensive knock on Cherki is due to Cherki's lack of pace - Cherki is quick in the short term on offense but can be caught out from behind - and that his lack of pace causes him to be unnecessarily classified as lazy on defense. I haven't watched Cherki enough to draw my own conclusions on this - but it is, nonetheless, are area of possible concern.

But he's lazy on defense.

And he showboats needlessly.

If he joins our side, Pep will attempt to reform his defensive ethic and showboating... who knows if it will work or not.
