I think this guy is going to split the fanbase. Some will absolutely love him and his languid style others will find his apparent lack of work rate and sometimes carelessness with the ball frustrating.

For me I know I’m gonna absolutely love watching him play. He is box office that is clear to see. I just wonder whether he can find a few yards of pace from somewhere. I remember foden worked with an athletic coach to get a better burst of acceleration. Something like that could do him wonders.

Just going off what I’ve seen his floor seems to be a payet type player (very fun to watch and will produce absolute moments of magic but lacks consistency). But given his age and likely improvement his ceiling is a genuine world class player who can win you games.

It will be similar to mahrez in that some people will perceive his laid back manner as a lack of work rate and pressing etc.

Mahrez also never gave the ball away where as cherki has already done that a a few times in this match with one occasion leading to wirtz hitting the post.

Mahrez was my fav player to watch and I imagine cherki will be just as fun. I just know cherki won’t be everyone’s cup of tea
 
How did that take so long, what an obvious foul.

My commentators on my stream are so braindead, they saw nothing wrong with it.

It’s been a more up and down performance. But there has still been some really nice flashes of what he can do.

Gotta remember he is 21. His potential is sky high
