Dont disagree with you. The network has a few critical breaking points as it stands like Cornbrook, and the tram fleet continues to age, so yes, plenty to invest in if they chose.

It hadn't dawned on that Sandhills was also on the Bury Line - in that case I can see why it might be a better option than going into town and then out again. Although you would think a cheaper option would be a good bus service around Queens Road/AlanTuring Way/Pottery lane - when as far as I can see there isn't one.
 
For those who are physically fit and don't mind strolling through the shady boulevards of Collyhurst, the Sandhills stop will be in reasonable walking distance of the Etihad. I doubt it's any further than Ashburys or Piccadilly, and for anyone going north, it will cut out all the hassle of the traffic in town.

Ashburys is 0.8 miles; Piccadilly and Central Park are 1.4 miles and Sandhills will be about the same. Not many do that walk to CP which always surprises me.

It’s funny that 1.4 miles seems just about okay but another half mile feels like an eternity. I’ve tried to get the rest of my group to do that walk from QR but they “don’t like the area”.

Mind you it’s alright for me as I’m quite a fast runner.

Next year's Brit Awards are to be held in Manchester - the first time the ceremony has taken place outside London since the awards began in 1977.

The ceremony will be held at the Co-op Live arena on Saturday 28 February.

A two-year deal means that the 2027 ceremony, which will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Brit Awards, will also be held at the same venue.

What difference is it to the old
social club next to Maine Road, concerts in the main Etihad stadium or even the hotel we’re building with regards to revenue that could go into the club coffers?
