I reckon the sudden collapse of the first team has probably done in for this generation of youth players, we've signed 7 players in 6 months, that number will probably get to 11 by next summer. I think it will be another one like 2/3 years ago where everyone gets sold.

think it probably has for the u21s, the u18s have the time.

yeah if they are 2/3 years away from the first team might be alright. But anyone who would have pushed for the first team next season or the one after that is probably done for.

looking at the timeline/pathway that seems to be the norm, think anyone currently in the u18s is fine.
 
So Newcastle are interested in Trafford from Burnley and for 30m but Newcastle said he will have to compete with Pope!

We had some saying "oh we can go for him because he won't want to compete for number one goalie!

Well he goes there and he does that's is a big big miss by us!

Unless Ederson extends he be gone next season so we could in fact tell Trafford that he competes this season get cup games and some champs games and if he looks the business he be our number one next season!

Not necessarily we may find that with our new DOF we aren't going down the never sell a player until they're on the down slope plan.

New ideas, new thinking is a youngster is deemed to be moving to the right level we could see first team starters moved on a bit sooner.

Would boil some piss thats for sure.

Just not sure we have that much of a need. Josko clearly will be playing LCB a lot next season partnered with Dias. Khusanov definitely in rotation. Then we have the likes of Ake/Akanji that seem uncertain whereas Stones I'd say looks like he's going. Add Bah and Reis (who might be a pivot like Stones as was reported Pep likes him at 6) into the mix and we are stacked at CB.

It will be sold to Trafford as he's basically no.1.

Despite some on here thinking Ederson is a bad keeper he's miles ahead of Pope.

It only be for Ake & Stones (Akanji as well but think he might end up the RB with Nunes, but get RB and then him too)

Jokso/Branth
Dias/Khus

Reis and Alleyne as the 3rd choices . Bah wont be here.

Players like Bah and Reis and hopefully Alleyne will have a future here eventually. Buying a player like Branthwaite just makes it harder for them to make that leap eventually. We'd be investing in him to be here for 5/10 and those players would fall behind him. We'd have to sell all 3 of Akanji, Ake and Stones for it to be likely this year in my opinion. And long term that means another young player is missing out.

maybe, dont see them all making it in the same position anyway. Only Alleyne can play LCB (but can play both) would be effected if they went for this.

Reis apparently pep sees a possible 6. (do wonder if he'll see that in Alleyne as well who's Ambipedal).

Bah is a weird one, just looks clumsy but might be his size tbh. Gut feeling is bounces around a few loans and flipped.

Miles, I don't know because we don't know how much Trafford has improved till he plays for a Premier club. At Burnley, he has been the goalkeeper of the Championship.

I want Ederson to extend, but if he doesn’t, Trafford would be a good choice!

All the rumours, though, it's Costa we want…

We are also not being openly linked with anyone that says a lot. We don’t want a CB.
