Just watched some of the videos and seen the pictures.

Horrific stuff

Think there might be at least a couple of survivors judging by some video footage going around.

If this is from this morning, let's hope for more good news (what little good news there's likely to be). Nothing graphic in the second video (top right), just a few people being transferred to a medical area on trolleys.

I don't know much about planes myself, but a few people who seem to are speculating that there was just too much weight on board? A few pointing to the massive amount of fuel in the tank?

The video I saw looked more like power failure.

Confirmed on Sky it went down into a residential area. I mean it doesn’t get any worse than that. Those poor people.
The video looks like the plane was landing I hope some may have survived very sad 242 people their families must be distraught waiting for news

The plane crashed on the BJ medical college hostel mess.

Latest some have been taken to hospital, reports say many MBBS students have also lost their lives. Rest in peace all those people:(

The video of the aircraft paints a very strange picture. Wheels still down, flaps look retracted, the engines sound like they're running with no signs of damage/smoke.

On the 787 a turbine is automatically deployed underneath the fuselage to generate electrical/hydraulic power if power is lost (eg. if both engines were lost) and it doesn't look deployed.

It looks like a takeoff performance mishap to me.
