President Trump

didn't Heggy or a minion claim to a senate committee it was costing $134m to send the marines? I couldn't work out where that cost had come from or what it related to, and they didn't seem to have an answer when asked.

Please tell me that’s rubbish.
Yeah I'm calling bs on that.

$1000 per person? Please. Try $100. "T-Mellon" good, funny. People that reply to things like this on Craigslist want cash. "Gold accessories"..."Fast food and soda"... "ethnic groups...maximum perception control" Very good. The post contains zero contact information to sign up or, in the alternative, a place to meet on the day of the event.

The photo on the ad is a May Day Parade in Red Square. Several people have pointed this out. Clearly part of the gag.

A fabricated Craigslist advertisement offering payment to actors to pose as protesters at a Phoenix rally for former U.S. President Donald Trump dates back to at least 2017 and is recirculating in March 2024.

Actors/help needed for event tomorrow from 2-11pm. $15 per hour. Duties include protest activity and holding signs that are Pro Trump. Minorities welcome and needed!

This has happened a few times sine 2017.

I think that the USA - and the world at large - is far too dependant on rare earths from China. Raising tariffs on rare earth imports from China is - I think - absolutely the right thing to do.

That said - the objective should be to incentivise domestic rare earth production as much as possible. Tax incentives/laws to further encourage domestic production of rare earths in the USA should go hand-in-hand with tariffs on the import of rare earths - I'm not aware that this is in fact occurring at all.

The trouble with Trump is that anything he does is for personal gain. Sometimes his personal gain overlaps with national benefit - but it's rare. And I know of no instance where Trump's policies holistically benefit the United States.
Er - isn't the issue that rare earth materials are rare, China has them, and putting tariffs on will make them even rarer in the USA and either much more expensive or just unobtainable?

well last night I saw a clip of him speaking at Ft Bragg and everytime he mentioned Newsome or Biden etc all the troops booed - they are a partisan fighting force who if deployed will wreak havoc on the American public
Maybe not that partisan - only the ones chosen...

It sometimes get lost in the context of his daily malice and stupidity but remaking the military into a political entity is so dangerous over the longer term.

The way you know it's probably fake is that much of it is written in proper English.

What, like England players doing Nazi salutes when they played in Germany in the 30s?
In 1935 England played Germany at of all place White Hart Lane. The German players did the Nazi salute, England did win 3-0 so at least @BlueHammer85 would have been happy :)

The US has reserves of rare earths that are not currently under production because it's cheaper to get them from China. This state of affairs poses both an economic as well as a military risk to the US. Yes, putting tariffs on the import of rare earths from China will of course make rare earths more expensive - but that's the point. If the price of rare earths coupled with incentives for domestic production are sufficiently high, domestic production of rare earths will increase.

I'll just pop this on here.
