The abiding characteristic of this administration is that it lies. And supporters either believe the lies, or lie themselves, or don't believe them but do not care. Can someone please explain how any supporter of this administration is not either stupid, or morally defective, or both?

The ICE raids and protests against them are likely to escalate. That will suit Trump and he will be eager to encourage it because a summer of violence on the streets (made by "infiltrators, agitators and insurrectionists"} will eventually bring a shift away from sympathy for immigrants and in favor of Trump's law & order. He can use that to increase support for the anti-immigration policies he campaigned on, he could even use it to get wavering Republicans in Congress to rally round his "big beautiful bill."

It used to be, in his first term. Now it's FEAR. He instills fear in people and he relishes it. Farm workers in California afraid to go to work in the fields, casual workers afraid to turn out at Home Depot parking lots to get a day's work, Republicans in Congress afraid to speak against him.
I'd call him a **** but he's not warm or welcoming.

I have no idea why they keep doing this - the number of attendee's will just draw attention to America's fading influence in the world - and any action taken against an attending country can also result in actions taken against the USA - countries are less and less in fear of a Trump led USA

Vance coming after Trump will not be any better. He was hand picked with their approval.
Like I say unnerving and interesting if correct.
Incidentally there is a whole other program around what is happening in the universities at the moment. All part of the greater plan.
Trump has normalised lying. All Maga authorities, representatives etc just do it as a matter of course now. The attorney general is the worst. Post truth era.

This isn't really politics is it? However, there may be posters who can relate this to NATO operations, the Ukraine, Iran etc. Also, it seems the British are involved. So some posters may find that worth knowing. As an aside and trying to relate this to an on-going discussion on another thread about rare earth Wyoming is the site of some huge deposits (apparently), biggest in the world some say.

I'm not sure of your point, but it's not a secret that Wyoming has RE deposits. A report a few years back claimed a staggering amount - 20 times China's deposit or so, I think.
Unfortunately, there is much smoke and mirrors, and quoting without proper context. My understanding is that WY has really big deposits, but they contain only very low amounts of REs, the total is only a fraction of the total amount in China (<5% I think).
I suspect that the aim of putting tariffs on RE imports is to drive the price up. If that happens, it may just be profitable to produce RE in Wyoming.
